As my wife, Sue, and I were looking over our photos from 2013 I realized that I had failed to write a review of Symphonie de Sens, even though it is one of our two favorite B&Bs in the whole world. The other reviews have noted how charming a place this is, in one of the oldest buildings in town in the heart of the old part of Rennes., There are many nice restaurants in easy walking distance, and we had a room next to the patio that allowed us a real feeling of spaciousness. Our host, Fabrice, made fresh breakfasts every day that we just loved --with truly scrumptious croissants . But what set this apart from other places we have stayed was the incredible kindness of Fabrice (and his parents). I got very very sick late the night before we were supposed to fly our of Rennes (vomiting) and Fabrice called a friend at a pharmacy to get it opened very very early in the morning so as to allow my wife to pick up some medication for me, and he then took my wife, first to the pharmacy and then to the airport to help her try to reschedule our flight. He did all the negotiations for us. He did all this even though he had other guest coming in later that day. Because this is such a small B&B and he served as the waiter for breakfast, and were there for over a week, we were able to get to know Fabrice a bit; and we felt and still feel a strong personal connection to him. He is just a really really nice guy!

The second oldest house in town, warm and generous owners, very well located and the charm of a historical house!
Besides the rooms there is a very nice common area with a living room and terrace.
The market is 5 min by walk and it's the region's second biggest...

We stayed in this glorious hotel in the heart of Rennes's old medieval quarter surrounded by a plethora of great restaurants for two nights. Our hosts René & Françoise could not have done more to make us more welcome or our stay more memorable. Our room was charming overlooking a lovely seated sun terrace where we enjoyed our breakfast on both summer mornings. There is parking nearby which the hotel organises at a very reduced cost of only 9€ per day. Free WiFi in your room plus tea and coffee facilities. In the lounge there is a fridge with drinks and bottled water at very reasonable prices and you are trusted to leave the money for them in a dish provided. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at this property for two nights, both in June 2015 and June 2014. When we return to Rennes next year as we probably will due to work committments, we will again revisit this charming property.
Fabrice is a wonderful host who provides an intimate, cosy and elegant environment right in the centre of the historic area of Rennes. Everything that Rennes has to offer is close at hand and the street is , in fact, part of the historic walking tour of which a map is available at the tour information office, located right behind Symphonie des Sens Our room was very spacious and oozed character. Breakfast for an additional cost of 9.40 euros per person, was plentiful and delicious. Returning for our second visit felt so comfortable and Fabrice greeted us like old friends, as did his very cute Jack Russell terrier, Tom.
This is truly a unique gem located in a unique town.

Rennes historic area where this B&B is located is a bit scary to drive in...but that makes the walking so wonderful through this very old district. A wonderful city.
This B&B is wonderful. Very old world and beautifully restored. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious - I highly recommend this B&B
