Good spacious rooms, that would benefit from a small settee or a couple of armchairs- certainly enough room in the 2 rooms we stayed in. Check-in bloke wasn’t very welcoming....rest of the staff were ok. Only 2 breakfast teabags left in room on hospitality tray need more -and more milk portions. Fabulous shower. Room was a little cold on first night, radiator didn’t seem to be on. Good breakfast, if a little slow replacing items such as juice, milk, hot water to make tea. Overall good stay.
Second stay here in last 6 months and we'll definitely be going again. Lovely food both for breakfast and dinner with great service. Hotel rooms above the pub are quirky and beautifully presented. Shower in the bedroom might put some off, but it actually works well for an overnight stay and the contemporary design touches make it an overall great experience.
We arrived early for check in & out bags were put in our rooms for when we returned later in the evening. The bedrooms are quirky & welcoming, the bed comfortable & the hot water was hot.
After a great nights sleep we headed down to breakfast & was greeted by George who was friendly & seated us in the restaurant. Our order was promptly taken & the poached eggs arrived perfectly cooked alongside delicious streaky bacon.
Ten out of ten for this lovely pub. Clearly very well run, with a big thanks to George for being the perfect host.
Stayed in Room 2 - far too hot so had a poor nights sleep. No instructions to use the air con - which could have made us more comfortable. No instructions on how to use the coffee machine either. A great location for the O2 and superb power shower, free parking a bonus. Great breakfast.
This was our second stay at The Pilot, after discovering this little gem last year. So convenient for the O2 - we were coming for the tennis, and it's great to be able to trot down to the hotel to check in leave bigger bags in the room between the day and evening sessions. Both times we've visited staff have been very friendly and welcoming, and it's great to have the separate entrance to the rooms, so you don't have to come through the bar on the way back if you don't want to. The pub seems lively and popular (if the delicious breakfasts are anything to go by, the food is probably very good!), but all the noise stops before 11.30pm and after that it's actually pretty quiet overnight, being a little tucked away from the main roads. Coincidentally, we had the same rooom as last year, and although pretty compact, it's got everything you need and the bed is nice and comfortable. The ensuite is big and the shower lovely and hot. Love the quirky decor too! We will definitely be back next year. I don't earn a fortune (public sector worker!), and I'd much rather spend it on one comfortable night here than two in a big, bland chain hotel. And of course, for this nineties teenager, the Blur connection puts the icing on the cake!
