The best hospitality we have received in years!
The chalet was very clean, with all the self-catering goods. Everything worked and the room service was efficient. Lovely own fire/braai area. The best Ox Tail supper we have had for a long time. The nature drive over the game farm was very relaxing and just great. This venue is so pleasant as the host make sure you relax.
We did visit a few recommended local places that made the 4 day trip just great. We definitely felt part of the family. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the farm during Christmas 2019. The hosts, Annalize and Leon, are fantastic, they make you feel being part of the family. Annalize serves fantastic home made food and Leon tells a lot of stories around animals and the farm.
The cottages are well equipped, clean and nice. The common areas (pool, dining room and large lounge with TV) are welcoming with great atmosphere. There are plenty activities for children like table tennis, darts, board games etc, so the kids had great time even without Internet - there is hardly any mobile coverage.

This was truly one of the best farm stays we ever done, thanks a lot Annalize and Leon! Highly recommended to anyone!

Thank you for taking time to review our performance and property. It was just an honor to could have been your hosts during Christmas and letting us be part of your celebrations. We are glad to hear you enjoyed my cooking and Leon's stories around the camp fire and dining table. We are looking forward having you back and thank you for recommending us. Regards to the family and friends.

We were visiting family in Rustenburg and were looking for safe accommodation that offers more than just a room and breakfast. We searched online and found Kareekloof Game Farm, which offers a rural setting, nature walks, game drives, well-appointed accommodation, all meals, is an easy 30 min drive from town and has a high rating score - just what we wanted! After a friendly reception by Annalize we took a long nature walk, saw plenty game and then relaxed around the pool. Late afternoon we did a game drive with Leon who shared his expert knowledge on the fauna and the local flora - very interesting. Later on we enjoyed a fantastic "boerekos" dinner around a huge fire in the lapa. What a memorable experience!
We had a restful and comfortable night followed by a huge and delicious breakfast. If you like the outdoors and are looking for a safe and enjoyable alternative to urban stays, with great hosts, best South African cuisine ever, then Kareekloof is for you!

Thank you for taking time to write a review about Kareekloof Game Farm. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the farm stay and food. We take pride in the fact that we - as owners - give personal attention to our visitors. The food is freshly prepared in our kitchen on the premises for each meal and we like to spoil our guests with real South African cuisine. Leon love to share his knowledge about the farm, history and fauna and flora on the game drives. It was great having you on our farm and we are looking forward to another visit one day, when you visiting your family again in Rustenburg.

We were a big group... one night - wide age range from little little people to grandparents. The proprietors were friendly and professional when we arrived, but became a little too familiar with comments.

Food was ok, but being watched while eating was not ideal. And we'll say our own grace - thank you.

Good Kids playing - being "monitored" and "admonished" by proprietors - they're kids - they're going to play - no-one would intentionally damage anyone's property - even kids.

One room filled with dead bees (apparently killed that day to make way for guests), another smelled due to sewerage leak. Another - no water pressure in the shower. Toilet dirty. Another room used by the guests had the clothing of one of the staff in the cupboards - the reason, that's the staff members room... 3 ladies decided to rather sleep on their car than sleep in the room.

Was chastised by the proprietor due to ringing the gate buzzer twice at 22:30 to inform the reception that the main entrance security gate was standing open. While it may have been left open for various guests to leave the premises, the explanation and tone of voice was less than ideal.

R1500 per room per night - expensive for the experience.

Thank you for the review. Please take a look to previous reviews from guests from all over the world and you will notice that this was a once of problem. We explained to the ladies while they were here that we got a problem with one of the sewage tanks due to a rain storm the previous day. It is every establishment owner's nightmare. I dearly and out of the deepest of my heart apologized to them.. We even refunded them for the inconvenience the storm has been caused. I can understand why they have been upset. The tank has been repaired in the mean time. Due to the fact that we were fully booked and people who still needed accommodation for the one night slept in the managers room. That room usually is not used for accommodation. And that is why some of his personal stuff was still in the cupboard. It was just for this specific booking. If you look previous reviews from guests all over the world and how they are satisfied, one can only wonder what your problem is.

We wanted to stay on a campsite but after rainfall the way to the campsite (2kms from the farm) was slippery and muddy. The owners offered us a room instead of the campsite for the same price. We could park the camper infront of the room and prepare our own meals there. They were very friendly and helpful and the five Dogs are very freindly too.
