My husband and I went back in December for our honeymoon. This was the last stop of our trip, and I am SO glad we ended it here. First of all, the people in Bali are the sweetest and humblest of people you will ever meet.
We booked the Mads Lange Villa, primarily to get some good photos in the infinity pool. But everything about this villa was impressive. The jungle views was the epitome of serenity; from the pool, balcony, and our restroom. The art and history of Mads Lange and his family that is displayed throughout the room is a great starting point to dive into the history of Mads Lange himself. And last but not least, the staff here are AMAZING! We felt like we were home the entire time. Everyone was so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely loving. Bali is a place we will definitely come back to visit and Tanah Merah is the resort we will stay at again. Kudos to the friends we made and everyone that worked to give us the best experience! <3
We stayed at the Tanami Merah Art resort for 4 nights, in the Mads Lange villa. We loved it here. The staff are friendly and helpful. A packed breakfast was given as we had an early flight. A great private setting to chill out. There are some steep steps going down to the villa that need to be noted. The sounds of the jungle and river are wonderful. The view overlooking the Penege river is incredible. The room is huge, with a beautiful ceiling, clean and airy. The breakfast is lovely which has 3 choices and is serviced at the room each day. We ate in one of the restaurants once, but as it was expensive we decided to eat in Ubud each day. As other reviews say, they offer a shuttle bus service into Ubud, which is about 15 minutes drive and you find your own way back, which was fine. Peter, the owner offers a tour of his outstanding massive antique art collection which has a history connecting everything about the resort.
We loved it here, but I like to make a couple of recommendations as feedback:
1: Pillows need renewing....at least 3 on each side of bed. This is important for relaxing in bed.
2: Rethink using plastic straws...please use bamboo or paper. Bali doesn’t need anymore plastic.
3: Use glass or china cups instead of plastic cups for tea. A thermos with the breakfast would be ideal.
I will then give 10/10
To start with I booked for 4 nights, paid full in advance and checked out after staying for one.
The room we were given,Rumah 5 is haunted.
I found the place bizzare with terrorism art work adoring every corner.
Midnight at 11.45 my wife got very scared and she felt as if she saw a white woman in the room.
I dismissed her thinking she was probably thinking too much and soon after I felt the presence of a white woman.
Both of us really scared we called the reception but no one came.
In the morning we went for breakfast which was good, the resort is artistic and has serene surroundings but we were on a honeymoon trip and not for some paranormal adventurism hence we decided to check out.
The dismal was we reported our horrendous experience to the owner and the property representative.
The representative was normal and said the woman in white lives there and the owner said people come in here for paranormal activities and such things are normal.
We can't be refunded.
Well I didn't even ask for a refund but expected a more courteous reply.
Saw the owner and the property representative smiling at each other when we left.
Probably not refunding was an achievement for them or our ordeal was.
We ran from the haunted rumah 5 for the sake of our lives and checked in to a better property.
We stayed at the tanah merah resort for 4 days. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. We had opted for a panaromic view room and we couldn't get any great view apart from the forest view. We could hear the river flowing but there was no view of it.
We arrived at the property at 3am and the staff was helpful in taking us to the room without even finishing the check in formalities.
We were vegetarians and didn't have a lot of food options at their restaurants. We were at their restaurant for breakfast on the first day and they took close to 45 mins to serve bread and croissant with some fresh fruit. From the next day we opted for room service and that was always quick.
The room was nice but was poorly lit. There were couple of steep steps to get into the bathroom and it could hurt after a trek.
Friendly staff was a big plus.
Last week, me and my friends went to Bali and I was in charge of the whole itinerary. For our accommodations in Ubud and Seminyak, I wanted a villa because we were in bali and for me, that is ideal.
We arrived late night and we appreciate the spaciousness of our room. We were 4 pax and we got 2 beds. Our bathroom was so big but the shower leaked on the floor but it was just a minor thing.
The dinner was priced in USD and a bit pricey for me. My dinner of Nasi Goreng and pineapple shake (small glass) was usd17.
The location was far from the highway, it was a bit far off but it was a perfect place for those who wants some peace. But if you want to go out, it will not be that easy bit still doable.
Overall, how I wish I could have stayed longer than our 2 nights. I would have loved to explore the place more.
