We stayed in the Harbour View suite. It was superbly appointed. The pictures don’t do justice to it. In addition , the view is amazing. The web site describes that it has a wet bar , but really it has an almost full kitchen. The breakfast staff was very friendly and the breakfast itself was generous and personal. We will visit again.

We spent 4 days here in May and it was paradise! Everything was perfect, nothing could have made it better - it is that good.

When we arrived, we were impressed by the views and the gardens, and the beautiful buildings. Sherry was just lovely, and welcomed us and showed us around. We instantly felt the peacefulness and calm of the place take hold.

We stayed in the harbour view room(s) and it was fantastic. The quality, décor, art, spaciousness and cleanliness are all perfect. We loved having the comfy chairs and ottomans from which to enjoy the amazing views through the picture windows...so relaxing.

The breakfasts were outstanding. Terry and Millie are wonderful chefs and cooks, and wonderful breakfast hosts as well - thank you so much for enhancing our stay in such a lovely way.

We started off with the freshest ever fruit salad, with either home-made muffins or scones and jam, followed by a delicious savory breakfast - pancake with poached egg, frittata, omelet - all just perfect. And best of all, I am celiac, and everything was prepared gluten free....and just as delicious as the real deal! It was heaven. There was also an espresso machine and frother, so perfect lattes were available any time.

This was also the perfect locale from which to explore the island, and we had a fantastic time following up on the recommendations.....sea kayaking, hiking around Ruckle park, looking for fairy doors while hiking up Mount Erskine, and taking in the views after a drive up Mount Maxwell.

The cheese tasting was excellent, and my husband enjoyed the craft brewery beer tasting. We also found a great (!) gluten free bakery - The Laughing Daughters.

It was great to return to Stone house at the end of the day, chat with Kathleen and say hello to Merlin, her Borzoi, then hop in to the beautiful hot tub and relax and take in the views.

All in all, an amazing getaway in a fantastic place, hosted by lovely people....can't wait to come back some day!

Stonehouse is so beautiful and serene that we spent long days just enjoying the space, the view, and the art. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived, breakfast was extremely tasteful, and the outstanding setting matched locations we've visited all over the world.

From the warm welcome by Sherry to the wonderful hosts for morning breakfast, have no hesitation about visiting Saltspring and staying at Stonehouse. Our room was fantastic as was the entire property. The views over Ganges were completely captivating. If you're like us, you'll be in no rush to leave when it's time. We'll return guaranteed.

We came here when snow was still on the ground as a break from the craziness
of the city . Kathleen is the caretaker and was welcoming , friendly , and very helpful . We were in the harbour view suite , two Flores with amazing views of Ganges harbour , neighbouring islands , and the snow capped mountains . Excellent Bose stereo too . Everything inside has been built to top standards , very attractive furnishings too . The main house is gorgeous and a nice place to eat the excellent breakfast . Breakfast is cooked by Millie , who is accommodating, very pleasant and a superb cook . We were trying to do the lower carb eating and she happily accommodated us and even made us a bag breakfast for our early morning float plane home . The hot tub deserves a special mention , stone top and customs made , quite large with a great view . The grounds also had interesting large stone sculptures which are reminiscent of stone henge . Walking distance to Ganges , or taxis are easy to get, unlike Vancouver, if you choose the float plane option . Oh, they also pick you up and drop you off at the float plane dock . We are planning on coming back with our friends . A perfect getaway with beauty , peace and quiet .
