This is the second bad review I have written in over ten years for anything but this hotel was terrible. Small uncomfortable beds. Terrible pillows. I paid for a room with breakfast and staff tried to charge me even after I showed them my reservation. They complied after I was adamant and refused to pay for breakfast twice. The room is a double for four people and I was told the next day (after they tried to take money for the breakfast I had already paid for) that the room is only breakfast for two people. I showed them my reservation which showed that breakfast was already paid in advance for four people but they refused to accommodate. Them on the last night we asked for an extra blanket several times. When we finally got it, we woke up the next day with bites from bed bugs. It was awful!!
Twice they wouldn't let us use the pool for no apparent reason. AC consistently stopped working. The key also consistently didn't work. They didn't clean our room at all. I had to ask several times. They tried to charge me for an extra bed that I didn't have. They tried to cheat me for various things the entire time I was there. It was very uncomfortable and a bad experience.
We came for an international special needs baseball tournament that was around the block and stayed two nights. We a family of 5 made one room work. The hotel was clean, and the rooms spacious. They have a small pool that my kids got to enjoy, but the hot tub was drained and out of order. The room was a double with two full beds, not queen beds. The mattress was springy, no foam. Very basic but met our needs. No fridge, no coffee and no hair dryer. A small table with 2 chairs, a separate desk in the room and satellite TV. The best part was the variety of restaurants in the area to eat, tacos, Chinese, burgers, Italian, Mexican seafood, sushi, etc. We would stay here again. The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel also has a party hall next door that we got to enjoy. A little worn but nice. This made for a good mini vacation close to home.
It's hard to think of anything to recommend this hotel other than its proximity to the University of Baja California where I was visiting. Everything about the room is average. As noted by another reviewer, the electrical outlets aren't convenient. My AC didn't work properly so I could not cool the room beyond a certain level, making for a somewhat uncomfortable night even though outside temp was mild. The breakfast was located in a restaurant across the parking lot which seemed a bit strange. The staff seemed a bit disorganized considering that it was a buffet. Had some challenges getting the few things I requested (and I speak Spanish fluently) and even though breakfast was included with my room there was some confusion about it when I was ready to leave. I spent much more time at breakfast than planned. Nice pool though. I regret that I didn't have a chance to enjoy it.
Because of work, I have been staying here every Tuesday night for about a month and a half now. It has a two large living rooms with TV in the lobby in case you are waiting fo someone, it has a swimming pool, parking, lots of places to eat or have a beer near by. It has a pharmacy also. In te room you have:
-Iron and ironning board
-Coffee maker and enough coffee for 4 cups
-mini shampoo/lotion/shower cap
-The restauran has room service
Very reasonable price and the food is really good. Your breakfast is not included in the price of your room.
I recomend the rooms that are on the first floor to the back.
The rooms are nice and clean. You have access to the pool, but to the table game room you have to pay 25 pesos per hour and I didnt like; tables are incomplete. The food is kind of expensive but around there are many restaurants.
