We enjoyed 10 days at Hameau de Montengrand with two small children in tow. The accommodation is so well equipped, the pool and barn area are lovely and the setting is just beautiful. There’s also a fantastic cycle track that runs just past the accommodation which is great for cycling on with small children. Highly recommended!

Before we even finished our wonderful week at Montengrand, we were already planning our return. It's the perfect combination of relaxed rustic charm and well thought through details - fluffy towels, good quality kitchen equipment and a beautifully maintained pool area. We loved relaxing in the gorgeous surroundings whilst the boys played or swam with their new friends, getting to know all the animals (including the amazing door-opening cat!) and exploring this beautiful area. I'm just not sure I want to spread the word too much on this little gem as it already gets very booked up!

We had our first holiday as a family with our 11 month old daughter at Montengrand, and I don't think we could have made a better choice.
The setting and grounds are beautiful and we couldn't have been made more welcome, the ready cooked meals and cold drinks waiting for us on arrival set us up for a fantastic two week break, and Nicki and Aidey were the most welcoming hosts possible for our whole stay.
We stayed in La Bergerie and the accommodation was faultless, with the biggest and most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in, perfect for lazy mornings with a baby climbing around.
When we arrived there were all the essentials such as coffee, tea, milk, olive oil waiting for us so we didn’t have to rush out to the supermarket immediately, and fresh bread and pastries were delivered most mornings.
The house had everything we could possibly need for our 11 month old daughter, including cot with bedding and Stokke highchair, and even a box full of toys, which made packing so easy. Stairgates on the stairs (top and bottom) were a very welcome addition.
Our little one absolutely loved swimming every day, the pool area was great with a covered summer kitchen which was great for lunches by the pool.
We loved pizza night, the other families we met were lovely and we ended up having bbq’s up at the pool and joint kids tea times at the barn with our holiday neighbours.
We had a truly relaxing holiday, something we weren’t sure was possible with a 11 month old and we would definitely go back!

We had been looking for a family friendly holiday for a few years and not that keen on the all inclusive options so thought we would give the Montengrand a go. Well what can we say, everything was just perfect the hosts, the accommodation, the toys, the farm animals, the pool, the night out chauffeured to and from with a babysitter, the pizza night all in all a perfect holiday that we will be booking again next year! Nikki and Aidey have done an amazing job and created a perfect family friendly holiday in the beautiful mid Pyrénées, our girls didn’t want to leave and neither did we!

This is the second time we have stayed, both times we haven’t wanted to leave! Our boys aged 12,9,5 all thoroughly enjoyed their visit. We stayed in the hayloft which has enough space for grandad to join us as well this year.

We had searched for a long time for a place with a heated pool as we visited in May/June half term when most pools haven’t warmed up. The pool area is lovely, parents can cook on the bbq and keep food and drinks in the outdoor kitchen, whilst the kids are busy in the pool, the view is amazing and the background noise of lambs baaing and chickens clucking is idyllic!

For a family looking to relax and unwind this place is just magic! The kids made friends, we had campfires, pizza night is great fun and the local village is just a very short drive away. Perfect for families like us who don’t plan everything in advance and might just choose to nip into the town for a meal or coffee if we fancy a change of scenery. Our meal Cooked for our evening arrival was delicious and was washed down with a welcome bottle of cremant! We visited Foix castle, the local chateau, Carcassonne and Mirepoix, finding The Relais hotel in Mirepoix particularly welcoming and the food good.

The 2 dogs, cats, chickens and 3 bottle fed lambs wander freely and add beautifully to the relaxed nature of the place, Nicky and Ady are truly welcoming and genuine people, they want you to enjoy your visit and go out of their way to make sure that you do! Despite missing passports, 3 day flight delay and thunderstorms as we arrived, we still came away completely relaxed and wanting to return.

Questions & answers about the pool

Answer from NickiDenaro
Aug 2018 |
Would depend which house you were in Charlotte because of the thick stone walls. La Bergerie is the nearest property to the pool and it has a kids bedroom on the south side, so one of our long range monitors should work. La Petite and Pierre’s are also within range but the kids bedrooms are on the north side so the signal might be compromised. If a cot was in the double bedroom of either then again the signal should reach. Kind regards, Nicki
