Stumbled across eco resort cermanizia and how happy were we that we did.
Situated about 20 mins walk from the sleepy little village of Virpazar which leads straight onto skadar lake.
We were greeted by Nemanja and a few other members of his smiling family (They have so much to smile about) after driving through the vineyards, fruit trees, olive trees on their premises.
Rooms are spotlessly clean, fresh with great facilities/ amenities on offer.
Lap pool with an amazing view.
Highly recommend having at least one evening meal there with Nemanja’s wife being a top chef! (Got to try the Grilled sea bass, next time will be Carp)
Breakfasts extremely nutritional, fresh and full of flavour. (Make sure there’s figs, nectarines, plenty of grapes & honey don’t you worry)
It’s definitely somewhere we are already looking forward to visiting again for its simplicity, it’s natural earthy beauty and it’s traditional values.
You’ll love the wine on offer to, the wine tasting experience and the rest what’s on offer. Bike hires, kayaks also.
Perfect place for families, couples, even groups to just well and truly relax, be healthy and take it all in.
Give Nemanja an email for sure.
virpizar is a scruffy very small village with not much character at all. however its a great staging post and the drive there alone is worthwhile. the hotel is without doubt the best place to stay. fantastic character rooms ( houses really), awesome views and a spotless pool in a very nice garden setting. cellar room tasting was cool, the dinner on our deck even better. loved it
About 20 minute stroll along the road to Virpazar where you can eat, take boat trips to Lake Skadar, wine taste, hire cars and catch a train. The small resort its self is a collection of individual cabin like accommodations, with beautifully hand made wooden furniture. The pool is perfect for a refreshing dip, and the home made food delicious. I would also highly recommend tasting the wines made here in the old fashioned method. Each of the 3000 bottles lovingly produced. Great place to relax. Warning though - there are quite a few steps up to all the accommodation.
Eco Resort Cermeniza was just superb. A little Montenegran hideaway off the beaten track but still close to amazing scenery and the beautiful lake at Virpazar. The Winery resort is about 5 or 6 villas around a small pool. Clean and comfortable (thanks to the tireless Katya!) ours had a jacuzzi too. We were given a free meal in the lovely winery restaurant, free boat trip and free use of bikes. Nothing was too much trouble for Nemanja even when the jacuzzi broke. Nearby Virpazar has numerous eateries and fresh fish the incredible lake Skadar. The whole area was mountainous and impressive and we managed to see lots of it in our daily bike trips. If you want peace, quality accom, friendly people and saving money this is the place for you. Thanks guys!
We spent 3 nights at Cermeniza at the start of our 2 week holiday and it was a perfect introduction to relaxation! Nemanja is a great host and always around in the afternoon to provide help, advice and recommendations. Villas are immaculately presented and the accommodation complex is small enough that it encourages really good communication between the guests. The kids loved making new friends at the pool and we were able to team up with another British family to do the 2 hour boat trip of Lake Skadar, all arranged by Nemanja and great fun. We loved the wine tasting session run by Nemanja's wife (and their gorgeous 16 month old little boy!) - it was really interesting to hear about the ethical approach they take to wine making and the produce was, indeed, lovely. Virpazar is about a 20 minute walk away (quicker if you take the bikes - we didn't have a hire car) and has a smattering of restaurants. Just be warned that many are cash only but will not tell you this until the bill is presented. Definitely worth checking first! Overall, Cermeniza was excellent value for money in a beautiful part of the world. Highly recommended.
