this was our 2nd Island in four, and I would say one of the best hotels we have stayed in whilst in Greece!
Fabulous apartment /room with a downstairs living area and kitchenette with a balcony with a great view of the sea. Upstairs a fabulous room with a second balcony, great shower room and large wardrobe with plenty of space with Ironing board. Came equipped with a fully stocked mini bar.
The pool area was ideal- again with a view to the sea.
As for the breakfast- well what can I say- enough to feed an army! and all locally sourced ingredients to the Island. Sifnos being a culinary delight. The fresh pastries every day were from the managers father in law who has a bakery on the Island. Fresh juice and coffee, breads, ham local cheese, eggs of your choice and fruits an yoghurt.
You certainly wouldn't need any lunch after that.
The owners are so polite and friendly and even got to meet Roxy the dog. they even offered suggestions of trips and how to visit them.
This Island was definitely our favourite with so much to do, they even offered recommendations for restaurants.
I would love to come back and if I did I would definitely stay at this hotel
The hotel also offers a selection of meals should you wish to eat there.
I cannot praise this hotel high enough. Standard of rooms - outstanding. Hospitality - words fail me. Price - well, high for Greece, but you get what you pay for. Anthi and Thanos could not do enough. They were gracious, welcoming, sociable. The breakfast was truly to die for - and I've had breakfast at the 5 star Elektra Palace in Athens (qv). Thanos would bring to your table, well, let us say, cold meats, cheese, pastries of all kinds (no doubt it helps that Anthi's dad is a baker in Appolonia!) and then he will ask you how you want your eggs. Good coffee and fruit juice on tap. And all this on a terrace overlooking the blue, blue Aegean in the bay of Platis Gialos. The pool is small (this is not a health club), and clean. Close your eyes and imagine a hotel in the Cyclades - and that is the Niriedes.
After our 5 nights on Serifos in a great self catering apartment it was great to arrive and be looked after again. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for Thanos. From carrying our cases up to somehow getting us booked on the last ferry out back to Athens due to the storms. The hotel is impeccably clean. The rooms are large and spacious. Ours had it's own balcony as well as a separate area for our personal sun loungers as well as direct access to the swimming pool. As others on here have said, the breakfast is really very very good with fresh pastries everyday as well as the choice of eggs anyway you would like them and a plentiful supply of tea coffee and fruit juice. All served by the ever present Thanos. Being so late in the season we didn't get the chance to try out the evening dinner menu and ate in the town. Hate to admit it but getting older and being used to dealing with my wheelchair bound mother now, I tend to look at how disabled people would cope and have to say if you're not reasonably fit and able to walk there would be some difficulty in getting up and down the stairs from car park to reception and then onward to your room. Other than that I can only say this really is a small gem. We loved it and hopefully will return again.
We traveled late in the season and Thanos was a gracious host. The balcony where breakfast is served has beautiful views and breakfast itself is quite a feast. The breakfasts are bountiful. I learned to pick one special pastry (of many offered and then have the tasty local yogurt with honey and fruit. (Eggs are available also). Our group had 5 rooms so we saw the variety the hotel has to offer in terms of balconies and window views, lovely decorations and sea breeze. Be aware that you need to climb stairs up to each room as the hotel is stepped along a hillside, giving views to all (I believe) the rooms. There is a pool that we didn't have a chance to use and a bar so we had a beer on the patio one afternoon. Thanos was friendly and available for our questions. Definitely a treat to stay here.
First off the island of Sifnos is wonderful! This was the third island we visited during our holiday and it was perfect in every way, the food, the people, the beaches, and our hotel!! This hotel was like a breath of fresh air... very clean, beautifully decorated, spacious, romantic, relaxing, awesome views, super accommodating, superb service, outstanding breakfast, perfect location, great beach & restaurants walking distance... nothing more we could have asked for. My husband and I literally said “this hotel is everything we were looking for!” The pool could have been a little bigger but it wasn’t a problem because the beach is so close by. Absolutely enjoyed our stay here and can’t wait to return!! Thanos the owner is a very professional, kind man! Thank you for your service.
