Had 2 flat tyres on way from the airport and the owner's son drove 90 minute round trip at 1am to bring us to Marika-typical of the wonderful, caring service at this property. Can't fault the place-beautiful views, spotlessly clean, great pool and first class hospitality. Thanks for another great holiday!

Stayed here for the last 3 nights of a 2 week holiday-next time we will stay at Marika for the full fortnight! Travelled with my 17 year old son and 24 year old daughter. From the moment we arrived,we were overwhelmed by the kind hospitality of Stephanie and her son Rich, who provided us with a welcome drink and gave us information about the surrounding area. Rich then helped us take our luggage to the room. We were amazed with the breathtaking views-the photos don't do it justice. Stayed in the 1 bed apartment, spotlessly clean with air con. Lovely deep pool with a diving board, and although it is a haven of peace and tranquility,we had some good fun practising our dive-bombing skills! Rich invited the kids to play cards and introduced them to his friends. Can't fault this lovely place, beautiful setting, lovely owners and we will definitely return. Thanks for a fantastic holiday!

The accommodation was very spacious and the views from the pool terrace were wonderful. Stephanie was helpful and very friendly without being in any way intrusive. However it is important to note that there is nothing available in the village, no shop, mini market, cafe. You have to drive to Georgopouli for everything. There is one restaurant in the village but it was so empty that we were never tempted to eat there, preferring instead to drive to Vamos, about 15-20 minutes away in the evenings.

Firstly can we say a big thank you to Stephanie and her sons for saving our holiday from being a disaster. We booked through Thomas cook and Olympic holidays allocated us and our 14 year old son to a apartment with no pool in a remote area. We found the Marika by chance and would like to show our appreciation to Steph for her hospitality and kindness for allowing us to use the pool and breakfast each day . This really is a oasis in the hills. Beautiful and well kept property at a reasonable price with panoramic views Mike Denise and Tom

We have been regular visitors to the Georgioupolis area for the past 14 years and have stayed at many places around the village.

We decided to try Marika Studios, a short distance up the hill in Exopoli village, last July 2013 and stayed for two weeks and it is definitely amongst the best that we have stayed at. Very clean, tastefully decorated, well equipped, comfortable accommodation and the service and hospitality from Stephany, the Australian owner and her two sons, Rich and Alex, was the best that we have ever experienced.

When we arrived late in the evening, Stephany, insisted that we have a hot meal which she prepared for us and Rich and Alex were on hand to welcome us also with a glass of wine to accompany our meal and took our luggage to our room while we sat on the terrace by reception and then spent some time getting to know the family while unwinding. Throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble; the family were always very attentive, obliging and sociable. Stephany even insisted on taking us out one morning in her car to a local village to visit a market and bought us a coffee.

The view from the pool terrace was stunning - overlooking Georgioupolis Bay and the White Mountains, it was a peaceful location, yet the family-friendly and lively village of Georgioupolis is just a few minutes away down the hill road by car. We were conveniently located for touring the outlying sleepy hill-top and coastal villages and smaller resorts around the area and a relatively short drive to the larger, cosmopolitan harbour towns of Rethymnon and Chania – both seeped in fascinating history and both charming, interesting and family friendly places.

When staying at Marika, you will need transport as it is a little remote but it is an added bonus to be located in such a peaceful, relaxing and picturesque setting. There are several pleasant restauarants in the village also.

Thank you Stephany, Rich and Alex for making our holiday that bit extra special and memorable and we are looking forward to our next visit to Marika in 2014.
