Checking in was chaotic. Reception staff are not helpful and you have to ask many questions to find out the information, as in where to have breakfast etc. We called for a buggie one day from reception, the buggie staff did not wait for us nor greet us and we had to tell them who we were in order to get a ride.
The all inclusive is not really all inclusive. From our understanding, for the royal olympian guests; it is the elements package, where guests get free dining at all of the a la carte restaurants plus buffet restaurants. For olympian village guests, all inclusive excludes La Marina restaurant (the maître d' and staff are the best on the resort). Not all drinks are included. Staff do not inform you unless you ask them.
For elements and all inclusive, they do not re stock the mini bar. They do not put UHT milk nor tea spoon in rooms to make tea. You have to ring room service and pay an extra fee for this(!) despite being all inclusive/elements package!
For the gazebo on the beach, you are paying a premium for the front view on the beach and to be closest to the sea, yet the hotel allows people with sunbeds who have not paid, to put their beds at the front for free. Therefore, obstructing the view of the paying gazebo guests. There is no beach service on the Olympian village gazebos. Only on the Royal Aldemar part of the beach (these sunbeds are reserved for the Royal Olympian suite guests).
The staff are polite but do not take initiative.
The buffets are the same food daily. Good tasting but not much choice for greek food nor other options.
The beach boys, most do not speak english. They stay in the hut all day and you cannot communicate with them unless the English speaking one is there.
The night entertainment was generally good. There was a flame thrower show one night and fireworks another night.
Drinks were not made well in the bars.
Housekeeping kept knocking on our door to clean our room, despite having the do not disturb sign on, when we were in...!
Wifi is terrible if you staying in the Royal Olympian...you have to go outside in order for it to work, otherwise it keeps cutting out.
If you want a slick, consistently good service, pay a bit more and opt for the larger chain hotels. In Costa Navarino you have the Westin for example, which has excellent reviews.
Aldemar will hopefully take on board the above feedback to improve. As it stands, would not be returning to this hotel.
