We were on a one day business trip at Bhilwara en-route to Jaipur. It was my first visit to the town and knew only one thing about the town that it is known for its textile manufacturing. The hotel is located near the Railway station and the heart of the town. It is easily accessible from any part of the town.
The rooms start from 2nd floor and upwards. The first floor is occupied by their dining hall & banquet hall. The rooms are small sized but very neat & clean. There isn’t much space for free movement around the bed which is placed right in the centre of the room. The bathroom is spic & span, with properly stocked toiletries & towels. The toiletries also were of a good quality and not some locally manufactured ones.
The room allotted to me had a serious flaw in its window. There was a gap of 1 inch in between two pieces of glass fitted on the window frame. Supposedly the carpenter forgot to fix a rubber piping in between them. I had visited in the first week on June, when the heat wave is pretty high and was relaxing in my room at around 2.30 pm since my meeting had got delayed. In spite of keeping the air conditioner at its lowest possible temperature, the room was not getting being cooled, I was at my wits end as to why this was happening. I was constant hot breeze from behind the mat curtain & that is when I investigated & found this gap. A serious lapse & something that should be immediately fixed by the management.
They have an in-house vegetarian restaurant which serves good food. We had lunch & dinner in the same restaurant as we were in no mood to explore the city, but the food quality & taste did not disappoint nor did the buffet breakfast spread out on the next day.
At about 7 am on the following morning, a small glass of lauki juice [Bottle Gourd + Fresh Coriander + Mint leaves blended together] was served in the room with 2-3 soaked almonds. It was nice gesture on behalf of the management. Just a word of caution, I hope they check if the Bottle Gourd or Lauki is not the bitter to taste as such vegetable can be poisonous.
I liked staying at La Abode and will surely stay with them during my next visit to Bhilwara.
