Idillic Austrian hotel.
My husband held his business meeting there and I tagged along.
Great for skiing, walking or just relaxing.
Very large, very clean suites, excellent value for money.
Food in the restaurant was beautiful, lots to choose from on the menu.
Definitely will be returning, taking the whole family
We stayed here twice - at the start and end of a 5 day walking circuit in the Alps. It is a wonderful family run hotel with so much charm and beauty about the building and the people.
The rooms on both nights were superb, the food excellent (we went half board), high quality wine and beer plus homemade Schnapps and the spa / Wellness suite was amazing. The beautiful chapel and grounds add to the beauty.
Overall it's a 5 star plus in our opinion and we cannot recommend it more highly!
Walking the mountains was our main goal for a summer fortnight in Austria. All hotels we had were booked in advance by an agency, we had seven different hotels in the area. This was the nicest/best one of the trip, we started and ended our walking trip here. It's nice, cosy, friendly, huge rooms perfect large bathrooms, great garden to eat in and they served nice and good diners. Just great.
Located just outside the village, overlooking the valley. There is a beautifull swimming pond behind the hotel, the staff is friendly and trying and the cook(s) really cook. . Excellent would have been my rating but my wife just remembered me of a point which I consider trully relevant: breakfast was basically OK but: the hotel has cows as neighbours in the meadows surrounding the hotel, maybe these neighbours were the origin of the high number of flies in the breakfast room. We normally can live with that but all the fresh food was displayed openly, lying uncovered uncooled on large plates. Not so nice to eat food which has been tasted first by a hunderd or so flies. Taking meat, chees, fruit etc started with waving the swarms away. My wife and doughter only dared to eat bread (very nice bread by the way) and wrapped things such as boiled eggs. A large disappointment starting the day after a very good night sleep in an idyllic place!
We stayed in one of the three room appartments with living room and two bedrooms as well as bathroom and seperate toilet. The apparment is very nice and spacious. The guesthouse itself is a old fortified estate with its own church. Very idyllic and quiet. The place is family run by 5 generations and the place is as such very homely.
Very recommendable for families.
We have enjoyed evening meals at the Gasthof Schloss Kammer on various occasions over the last forty years or so. During the last eight years we stayed on several occasions in one of the newly renovated Romantischen Schlosszimmer. Our room is large, light and with a magnificent view; it has a very comfortable Sitzecke – a separate space with a sofa and two easy chairs. The large bathroom with bath and shower and separate WC are well equipped, although some may miss a washbasin in the WC.
In spite of retaining the original style of the several century old building, both externally and internally, there is a lift to the bedroom floors and there is no compromise in the modernisation of all essential conveniences,
The restaurant facilities are spread over several rooms and a very nice garden. There is a very large choice from a menu of both Austrian and internationally recognisable dishes excellently prepared from the produce of the two farms belonging to the family – the quality of the meat is magnificent. The generous breakfast buffet also contains some of the cold meats of home produce.
Much of the very friendly service is provided by members of the Family Neumayer and they, with the rest of the team make one feel really welcome. It is an achievement how they manage to create a spacious elegant environment without the inhibiting fancy extras of some four star restaurants. This is also reflected by the wide range of pleasant people one meets there.
