India is a vast country with so much to offer, cuisine, culture, architecture, beautiful beaches and Hotel staff that spoil you. Goa is such destination.
We arrived at ICG just before last Christmas and stayed for 11 days. It was the best decision we made as it offered excellent accommodation, lush gardens with lots of assorted plants, shrubs & trees. The staff is well trained & most hospitable. Most of them spoke English. The hotel pool, gym, Yoga classes on request is a complement to the Resort. The housekeeping staff always kept the hotel neat and clean, the rooms were spotless and regularly serviced. I like to recognise some of the staff who were consistently excellent at what they did, Sabina, Usha, Krisna,Sonali, Karina, Davi, plus security staff. I had 2 encounters with reservation agent who went out of her way to resolve my issue. The senior managers were always around to guide, assist and direct. The New Year’s Evening was highlight experience of our stay, Dinning & dancing to great music, the theme was Hawaiian Night. The beaches, restaurants, clubs, the capital & shops are within easy reach. On the down side we had difficulties to order a taxi.
We would for sure return in 2020.
We've just returned from a week at ICG in Goa and have and a wonderful time. We were not there to see all the tourist attractions or to get the western ideal of what India is but to experience a little of the real India. Having said that the rooms are large and airy, the restaurant good and the staff all completely charming and helpful.
The food in the restaurant is nearly all Indian, but there are other options there if you look and the staff will always oblige and suggest alternatives.
Breakfast is a difficult meal in India as it so different to what westerners eat, but the toast and omelettes were good and the different dishes were there to be tried.
The best thing about ICG (apart from the staff) is the grounds. They are light, open and beautifully kept and the pool in the middle is a real bonus. The boys also enjoyed the gym.
I would recommend ICG thoroughly
Calm quite place near Goa University...The rooms are big enough but the bathrooms and toilets need to be renovated and upgraded. The restaurant is okay but needs fresh menu for the boarders to eat that that place rather than go out to eat. Breakfast is okay spread.
The staff if quite efficient and good . It is great place for seminars and meetings. A great place to go with family for holiday as it has swimming pool, Spa , Gym as well. The open air bar if quite inviting apart from local closed room Bar.
I spent a week at the ICG, travelling with two others, and can thoroughly recommend it. The resort has a lot to offer and it's well situated, a little south of Panjim, so day trips all over Goa are possible if you have a car. It's only 15 minutes drive into the centre of Panjim, and it's close to the highway that bypasses most of Panjim if you want to head north. Heading south is a breeze. There is ample free parking on site, a well equipped gym, a games room, a very clean and well maintained 20m pool, a playground for children, a business and conference centre, and a restaurant.
We used the pool daily in the early morning and evening when the sun was not on it. During the day there is no shade over the pool, so we left it to warm up for an evening dip. The water was never cold. Because of its length the pool encourages people who want to swim laps. An improvement in the pool would be lap lines drawn on the floor of the pool to guide swimmers and to avoid collisions! That said, the pool was never crowded, even on days with full occupancy.
The room rate includes a buffet breakfast which offers something different each day. On different days we enjoyed dosa, idly, uttapam and so on. There is always freshly cut fruit, hard boiled eggs or omelette if you need a protein fix. It serves veg and non-veg options. We didn't have lunch here, but we enjoyed room service on a couple of evenings after roaming during the day, and we also attended the restaurant in the evening once. The dinner options are very varied with both Indian, Western and Chinese options available. It's not fancy fare, but it's well prepared, tasty and not too expensive.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms well constructed and clean. The air conditioning and fans provide welcome relief from the hot and steamy monsoon weather. Free wifi is available all over the resort and while it's not super-fast it is reliable.
The staff at the ICG are just delightful. They are friendly and happy and are always willing to help. I can't speak too highly of the ICG people, they are a real asset to the place. I would certainly choose to come here again. The money saved on the room tariff in comparison to a 5-star resort we were able to spend on some very fine dining that we really enjoyed. We never felt like we had no option but to stay on the resort, so we had the best of all worlds. If you want to explore Goa, the ICG is a great base.
The property is well maintained. Rooms are spacious and overlook the well maintained lush green garden. Rooms have all the basic amenities. There is a private sit out / balcony. Food served is simply delicious. Loved the food here. Staff is courteous. There's a swimming pool, gym and a reading room. Overall, worth the money spent.
