So glad I found this place when looking for somewhere to stay in the area and I'm still amazed at the excellent value for money and am surprised there aren't more reviews of it on TA (though there are lots on booking.com) I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and two teenage children and we had a 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor with a small kitchen, small dining area with adjacent small balcony and a fair size bathroom for which we paid a total of €169.20 (€50 a night plus taxes) This didn't include breakfast, which we knew and got some provisions in one of the supermarkets in Lauchringen which is a 15 min drive.
We arrived on a Tuesday evening when the restaurant was closed so the place was locked up, rang the bell and the owner answered who is a very pleasant lady that speaks fairly good English. She showed me to the apartment which was very nice.
As the restaurant was closed that night we cooked some pizzas and sat on the balcony with a glass of wine, we ate at the restaurant the following night and food and service were very good, we later sat out on the lovely terrace drinking the excellent local beer Rothaus, chatting and enjoying the countryside view.
There is free wifi available which was fairly good (important for teenage children!)
We all slept well, it's in a small village and the only sound that could be heard was the nearby church bells.
Although it's fairly remote there's a lot of things to do within an hour or so drive. The first day we went to the excellent alpine coaster at Todtnau, then drove to Freiburg for a few hours then to Lake Titisee. The second day we drove to Affenberg - Monkey Hill, then to Meersburg Castle, got the ferry across Lake Constance, had lunch in Konstanz then went on an evening session on the Segway at Blumberg (great fun). After checking out we went to The Rhine Falls which is less than half an hour away.
Thoroughly recommend this place and would loved to have stayed longer.
