I stayed at Bopeep farmhouse for one night as a present from my sister. She had asked if there could be flowers waiting when I arrived.. Eileen arranged this for her and I arrived to the most beautiful flowers & chocolates.. I was taken aback it was all absolutely beautiful. Bed was very comfy!
The room was lovely and spacious with a great shower and stunning views out of both windows.
I’m scared of dogs who jump but John and Eileen make sure they are separate from guests unless asked otherwise which I did as they’re gorgeous and really gentle border collies (Even the year old pup.. Dot who is very sweet).
Breakfast was spot on and John helped me find the right walk for me from the farm house into Afriston and back through the fields.. simply stunning views walking up and along Bostal hill .. really breathtaking. Also a close drive to all the beauty spots in the area including the seven sisters cliffs.
Very special thank you to my sister and to John and Eileen who were charming and helpful throughout.

I stayed here while walking the South Downs Way, and it turned out to be one of my favourite places of the walk. The room was faultless, with clearly a lot of care having gone in to what a guest might need during their visit, and the location itself is very charming, and within easy walking distance of a lot of little places worth visiting in the Sussex downs. John and Eileen were so welcoming and informative about the local area, that when I go back to the area to explore further, I would definitely want to stay here again!

Four of us stayed here this weekend. We received a very warm welcome from John who showed us to 2 superb rooms. Wonderful views.
One room had a better shower but the other room had a nicer view over the garden.

The house is quite isolated so it was lovely and quiet. The beds were comfortable and spotless.

Breakfast was good and we all had plenty, along with a very informative conversation with John and Eileen our hosts.

We will stay here again if they will have us

I am terrified of dogs (eek!) and the owners had dogs, you see, so that wasn't a good point of my holiday. I literally wanted to die when I heard the barking as I rang the doorbell, and I was so scared and ran back down to the road and hid behind the fence, and the rest of my family had to greet the owners and ask them to put their dogs away.
Other than that, it was average. The room was a little small and rickety and I am a bit chlosterophobic which was bad as it had very low ceilings. It was incredibly annoying because one of my family members is very tall and kept on hitting his head. Also, there were ladybirds all around and they kept on crawling into my bed and onto me. It was a bit uncomfortable. The beds weren't great, either.
The breakfast was okay. Just, average. All I can say about Bo Peep farmhouse is it was average. Sorry.

Response from John F, Owner at Bo-Peep Farmhouse

It would be nice if any of this had been mentioned at the time. I had a long conversation with the Lady before she booked the room and said she didn't like dogs. I explained that we had dogs but they go nowhere near the guests, which they don't, but as we are quite remote they are a good burglar deterrent, but sorry! She said her son was tall and I explained that the twin room she needed for her son and daughter at the front of the building is low because it was built in the 16th century, but I said if one of the other rooms was free when they arrived I would move him. When they arrived, another room, which has an 8ft ceiling, was available at no extra charge, but they declined it. As to the two rooms, one is 13 ft x 14ft and 8ft high plus the en-suite, the "rickety" twin room may be over 400years old, but it is 16ft x 14ft but is only 6ft 4 high and admittedly there is a 4in deep beam which the lady was very aware of, before she even came. If somebody takes the trouble to ring us because they have concerns, which she did, we will explain any shortcomings of an old building and then leave the choice to them. We won't force them to stay here, because then they have no cause for complaint. Maybe I didn't explain it clear enough! As to the ladybirds, we personally are fed up with them, but because of the hot summer last year there was a plague of them that overwintered and the central heating brought them out in January and February. I am very surprised that, as they too live in an old house, or so they said, they didn't notice any at home. I am sorry that we were average, but the next average place you go to please tell the owners there and then if there's a problem. Don't say, "We had a lovely stay, we will be back" and then resort to criticism from afar six weeks later. PLEASE TELL THEM AT THE TIME! John

We arrived weary and exhausted after 15 miles walking and were greeted by a very friendly man who showed us to our room. Waiting for us was a bowl of chocolates - roses and quality street etc - which absolutely made our day! Very nice shower and toiletries provided. The gentleman was very helpful in giving us directions to the local pub for dinner. The next morning we had a very nice chat with he and his wife, and a simply sublime full English breakfast, as well as a selection of delectable fresh fruits and delightful jams for our toast.
