One of the world's great cities!

93%
Found this guide helpful

You need to spend at least a week. This is a very civilized city, with interesting architecture, great museums, restaurants (particularly steaks and Italian food), tango shows, and several interesting day trip options. The only downside is that it is a long and expensive plane ride from Europe or the United States. But once in BA, it is all upside; prices are substantially less than those in the U. S. or Europe for comparable goods and services.

Stanner57's City Tips

  • Day trip options include a trip to the Tigre Delta, Colonia (in Uruguay), or an Estancia in the Pampas.
  • Best museums include MALBA, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Issac Fernandez Blanco, and MAMBA. The Naval Museum is great also.
  • Plan your itinerary to include museums, restaurants, a side trip, and a tango show.
  • Take a taxi from the airport to your hotel; you pay in advance at a stand before exiting the airport. Except from the airport cabs are good value. A 10% tip is generous for cabs.
  • Check beforehand to see if you need to pay a reciprocity fee. BA has several neighborhoods, For first time travelers central BA is probably your best choice.
