3 Days in Cabo San Lucas

Exclusively commissioned by TripAdvisor

Three days in Cabo San Lucas may seem like just enough time if your main goal is to achieve a tan and down some margaritas! But this itinerary is for the over-achievers that want to witness astounding views, be a part of memorable natural adventures, sample mouth-watering Cabo dishes, and enjoy evenings filled with fun. As busy as this list may seem, I have made sure there is enough time to lie on a hammock or beach towel, to close your eyes, and smile because nothing beats that feeling Cabo gives you.

Samantha O's City Tips

  • Bring as much of your "beach equipment" with you as possible. Hotels will rent out snorkels, boogie boards, and such at ridiculous prices.
  • Bring change as smaller establishments will have a hard time cashing big bills for you, and it's safer to not flash hundred dollar bills around.
  • Most places will accept USD as payment, the rate may not be the greatest though.
  • Most hotels and restaurants will have their own taxi base, use these whenever possible instead of street taxis. Same price, a lot safer.
  • Renting a car is the best option for checking out the best beaches and to visit the "local" Cabo.
  • Most beaches in Cabo have high currents. Always have someone with you or keeping an eye out and beware of powerful undertows.
  • Tap water is not potable in Mexico, so stock up on bottled water or buy a bigger jug from available convenience stores to refill your canteen. Ice is fine though.

    Samantha O Says:

As the name suggests, this beach is sure to spark romance at the first glance, but having a significant other is not necessary! Families and solo travelers should also visit this beautiful spot while in Cabo. It's a more secluded beach for beach pioneers that don’t need commercial establishments around.

    Tips
    • This is one of the few beaches in Cabo fashioned with super-soft sand! The currents are pretty high though, so be careful!
    • Taking the water taxi is the safest way to get here, otherwise, you have to climb over a mountain, which is not very comfortable to do in swimwear and flip flops!
    • Divorce Beach is just a five-minute walk south of Lover’s Beach! Another nice beach, but with strong currents.
    • Since there are no restaurants, stores, or bars around, I would recommend you pack a picnic and anything you may need for the day.

Medano Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Cabo San Lucas; with tranquil waters and a wide sandy area, this spot is accessible and enjoyable for all ages. You will find an array of water sports to try out here, anything from kayaking, paddle boarding, or jet skiing. Restaurants, shops, and bars line the beach with enough options to keep you entertained for a whole day.
