I’ve read other travellers experiences about getting around Uluwatu and it seems there’s a taxi mafia around Uluwatu who seem to charge what they want and chase away other taxi firms.
I wonder if anyone has first hand knowledge on this and if there’s a workable alternative anyone found.
Thanks in advance everyone
I always asked my hotel what the fee would be back from X place. Then when the taxi tried to charge me a much higher price I would negotiate and if the price didn't come down I would just pretend to walk away or I would pretend to call another taxi company. They would always bring their prices down to a reasonable price.
Hi! To answer this query, if you go to places which seem to be far away from the main streets, it’s difficult to get a cab thru Grab(taxi app). In this case, the personnel in that restaurant, for example, would book a taxi for you. But charging you a fare way expensive than an ordinary taxi.
Go to Drifter’s cafe! Amazing place to chill in Uluwatu!
Hope this helps! Enjoy your holiday!
P.S. Please download Grab as Uber no longer works in Indonesia.
I suggest you for Mr. Bayu driver during our individual tour of 6 persons. Car rate is an average. Very gentlemen guy and very calm in nature. During 5 days of our journey he had never refused our request. If you want to book, His Cell no. is
(+62) 81353284578. Have a nice journey.
