Hi, Live out. What would you like to know about this attraction?
How do we get to this trail head? I heard the Tioga Road is still closed? Do you think this is appropriate for an 8 year old? Thanks for your help! Best, Candy
It's easy to find and the trail head is well marked, and the trail itself is paved.
It's easy going down, but make sure you bring enough water, as the hike back up is a bit difficult.
An 8 year old should be able to handle it.
Tuolumne Grove is open year round. The closure gate for Tioga Road is past the Tuolumne Grove trailhead.
You get there by driving to it. It's up Big Oak Flat Road toward Hwy 120 and turn right at the Crane Flat intersection.
By 8 years old, my kids were backpacking, so I think this 2.5 mile round trip trail is fine for most other 8 year olds.
