You could either take a cab or the free bus called the Circulator. You would take the Banner Route on the Circulator to go from downtown to Ft. McHenry. It's 3 miles from the Inner Harbor to the Fort, so definitely walkable if you're up for it. It's not bad as long as the weather's nice. You'd see a few mediocre blocks with a lot of traffic, but you'd also see a lot of charming neighborhoods with different types of rowhouses. It's a good way to get a feel for the southern part of the city. (Oh, but which train are you taking? The Penn Line which drops you off 2 miles north of the harbor, or the Camden Line, which drops you downtown?)

If you make it to the Baltimore Inner Harbor, I would highly recommend the Water Taxi. It is a flat fee for the day and you can go to several sites in Baltimore. Just buy your ticket at the Inner Harbor because tickets are not sold at Fort McHenry.

My answer would be taxi, uber or Lyft. If you plan to stay overnight or nights, parking is difficult around hotels.

Once in Baltimore you will still have to get an uber or a cab to get to Fort McHenry. It is not close to any of the metro or train stations.

HI I suggest you contact Fort McHenry. It's a national park and should be easy to contact

I think renting a car would be the best answer. Then you could also enjoy the sights along the way.

We had rented a car for the weekend, so that's how we got there. The suggestions from other visitors are great.

Uber or Lyft will be the easiest and most effective way to get to the monument. Once there, don't miss walking through the Federal Hill district.

Try uber. Also check out out if there is an on off trolley tour. There is a great historic trolley tour that will take you around the historic sights from the visitor center. It goes by Fort McHenry. Call the visitors a center for tips.

Amtrak from DC to Balt. From there I think you're best bet is to take an Uber or a taxi. My daughter and I actually walked back into the inner harbor from the fort but it's a very long walk and not all that impressive in terms of beauty. Either car service should work fine for you and I doubt if the bill would be more $40.00 round trip. My knowledge of the trains is limited though as I'm from a small town in Oregon. Good Luck.
