Empire State Building Questions & Answers

If we are going in December, is this still worth it? I feel like cloud coverage would block the views but I'm not sure.

Hi Jordyn B.,

Thank you for your inquiry! Depending on the time, day, or season of your arrival you’ll be treated to a different perspective on the city. Whether or not there is cloud coverage doesn’t tend to depend on the season or the month—there’s plenty of beautiful, sunny days in December, you’ll just need a coat! December tends to be one of our more popular months.

We do highly recommend calling us ahead of time to learn about the Visibility Conditions at our Observatories. Since tickets purchased online can be used anytime from one year of purchase, you can call us before you’re planning to head over, and decide when to visit based on what our team says about the visibility. In addition to the views, we offer other activities such as our Sustainability and Dare to Dream Exhibits, our celebrity walk, and our complimentary Observatory Experience App. We hope you choose to visit us in December!

Unable to answer this I went in June with clear skies but have never visited in winter.
