What's the difference between a Superliner and Viewliner?

I see them both mentioned when looking at sleeping compartments.

The Viewliner Sleepers are used on long distance trains originating or ending in New York City like the Lake Shore, the Silvers, the Crescent, the Cardinal. The old tunnels into New York Penn built in the late 1800's are not tall enough for the higher cars. East Coast trains like the Capital Ltd. and the Auto Train are Superliner equipped since they originate or terminate in Washington DC and Lorton, VA respectfully. The Viewliner has 12 Roomettes, 2 Bedrooms, 1 HC, and 1 Attendant rooms. All rooms have a toilet and sink in them, there are no shared facilities except for the shower for the Roomette passengers.

Bill, Generally the Viewliner cars are used in the East on the long distance trains and have only one floor level. The Superliners are used in the West and the West bound trains such as the Zephyr, the Empire Builder and the Southwest Chief, and have two floor levels. Somewhere on the webpage for each train route, it will note which type of car is used for that route. However the Zephyr is definitely the Superliner cars.

I don't know, but I suspect that the Viewliners being only one level have less overall height making it easier for them to go up and down the east coast.
