The feeding times now are 11am, 1pm and 3pm. As the birds are starting to grow up they do self feed from time to time and are more active after the first and third feeding. Kiwis are night birds so visitors should arrive a little early so that their sight adjusts to the darkness.
I don't think there is really a set time. The Kiwi come out when they please. You really need to be patient and quiet to view the Kiwi. I do know they have a new pair of birds since we were there and thus this pair may still be adapting to their environment and not come out of their den as often.
When we were there the feeding times were 11am, 1pm and 4pm. We viewed them being fed at 11am.
It was 1pm on the Sunday when I went
We went in the morning and from what I remember the keepers put the food in about 11 o'clock you then have to be patient and wait for the kiwis to come out of their hiding places.Sometimes it is difficult to see them as they are in artificial darkness as they only come out at night in their natural habitat.
