Planning to do the 6 line in January. How does it work with regards the Gondola? I understand the end of the 6 line is at the bottom of the hill. Is there some arrangement with the 6 line that you can buy a single rather than return ticket for the Gondola? Why isn't the Gondola ride up included in the cost of the activity?
Hi Robert. Thank you for your email. The gondola is owned and operated by a separate company and the ticket is a return trip. There is so many great things to do up at the top of the hill and then you can travel back down the bottom via gondola. We do not include the gondola ticket as part of our tour price as there are many packages you can purchase the gondola with including buffet dinner, luge rides as well as a haka show as well as many people with pre-purchased tickets so by keeping it separate our mutual guests can choose to package us how they wish rather than paying twice. All the best planning your trip and look forward to having you out with us. Regards Ziptrek
There is a walking trail that will get you to the top of the gondola where you will find the start of Ziptrek. That's one way to reduce your cost. The trail takes about 45 minutes to and hour based on your fitness and does have one or two steep parts.
Not sure why everyone is saying you have to buy a round trip. We just did the 6 line and bought a 1-way ticket no problem to the top on the gondola. Gondola ticket separate because they are different companies entirely
hi Robert, the Gondola and Zipline trek and separate activities. you can either do a hiking trip/ trekking / take the Gondola up the mountain. the entrance to the Zipline Ecotours is just left of the Gondola station atop the mountain. the cost of Zipline depends on whether you take a 4 line or 6 line ranging from NZ $ 130 onward
Hi sorry for late reply. Unfortunately you have to buy a return gondola ticket as they don't do singles. The gondola and zip companies are two separate entities hence no deal where you pay one way as zips finish at bottom. Hope this helps. Zips were brilliant!
It's true that the gondola only sells round trip tickets. I'm not aware of a deal offered by ziptrek that includes the gondola. To make it worthwhile on paying for the gondola, I would go a little early and buy one of the packages that gives you gondola and luge rides. Then you could ride the life before ziptrek.
