If they are used to this sort of activity and have proper foot wear on I’d say yes

My husband and I have done it. It is a rough terrain as you go on all 4s. The trek is rough and with recent rain it would be muddy. As a guide the coromandel walk from hahei is easier. So I would not recommend it.

For anyone wanting to do this walk with young kids, please note there is a lot of rock walking, ie around the coastline there are loose rocks which you have to walk on/over for approximately 400 meters. Some adults even find this too difficult to traverse, but if you have reasonable fitness, an adventurous spirit and good closed footwear you should be fine. When walking up the bush track it can be steep and slippery in places, particularly after a rainfall.

I have seen many an adult carrying their toddler because the terrain is too difficult for very young kids. This must be quite hard on the adult since you need both arms to grab hold of trees, etc in places.
