Hi i see you postedSomething about thieves taking belongings from buggies and bags, whats that all about thanks
Never leave any items of value unattended on any golf course in Spain. Calanova is actually safer than most because it is not on a major road. The biggest risk anywhere is when you park close to the boundary that is near a road. Thieves on motorcycles can jump the fence go through your bags and be gone in less than a minute. Use common sense and do not present opportunities to thieves.
As per the other replies above the situation of thieves at virtually all Costa del Sol golf courses is unfortunately the norm. The only way we have found to alleviate the problem is to leave your minor possessions in your car, and either carry your wallet/phone etc on you rather than in your golf bag. If there are two of you in the buggy, one of you plays there shot/searches for their ball in the woods etc and the other stays with the buggy; then switch NEVER should both of you leave your buggy/golf bags unattended. Golf courses are open to anyone, hence it is difficult to stop these people getting on the course, and half the time they are mistaken for grounds staff.
This is common advice on all the courses in the area. I've never had an issue with theft, not even seen anybody that looks like a thief. Obviously they do operate otherwise the clubs wouldn't give out the advice to keep all valuable belongings on your person, but it's not something that would deter me from playing.
But this is something thats happens on basically all golffields in the area, i would say that Calanova are verry opened and its easy to keep an eye over your buggy. There are several other tracks thats feels more unsafe in cost del golf. I have played like 25 of the them and will for sure reccommend Calonova loveley vues
There has been thieves who attack into buggy or player`s golf bag while you are away chipping and putting the hole. Money , wallet and other value belongings like GPS devices can disappear. Not nice at all...
