Can we go there by taxi and come back by tran an how much would it cost and how often do trans run back to Palma
Yes you can. In fact it would be much cheaper by taxi as the taxi is about 7 euros .
Your question has been largely answered, I see. We went from Soller to Palma and return by train, both beautiful and far less costly than taxi and more picturesque than bus, as the rail line runs through farms and vineyards and close to homes. No need to book in advance, I think. Trains are frequent -- they were in November when we visited, and surely more frequent in summer high season.
I believe a taxi from Puerto de Soller would cost about 65 Euros one way The train takes an hour to travel between Palma and Soller. However, I am told there is a bus service that costs about 6 Euros, I don't know how long this takes. I was told by another couple that there was an option of taking the train to Soller and getting a bus back to Palma Which would be an option and should be cheaper than a Combi ticket.
Hi NancyD, thank you for your query which I see has been largely answered.I can add that the station ticket office in Palma seem to have a habit of altering or cancelling trains on a whim so always best to double check. What you book online or by phone may have altered ( or not exist ) by the time you get there. That said - Can't remeber cost but it's a wonderful trip.Enjoy ! We went and came back by train and can't remember how often they run, probably every hour but can vary through the day.
Your hotel will have all the details.
Sorry no idea how much taxi is as came from airport by private transfer.
Going by taxi is very expensive the train to soller is the best way to see the other side of Majorca life through the mountains and orange lemon and lime plantations
The train service to Soller is every hour and the Tram from Soller to Port Soller is every half an hour
It would be possible to have a taxi from Palma to Puerto Soller but rather expensive as it would take over half an hour at least to get to the resort. Trains to Palma are scheduled to run every thirty minutes during most of the day but at some times it is only every hour so check before you travel is the answer. They terminate at the inland village of Soller and you then have to take the tram down to the coast.
You could obviously go by taxi, cost would be wholly dependent on distance and time. So far as return by train, I suggest you take a look at the train website which has timetable and fares.
