Hello just asking is HMS Belfast wheelchair friendly or is it best to use crutches thanks
Crutches. There are some areas you may struggle with. Even with crutches. But it’s a great day out still.
I don't think much of the Belfast is wheelchair friendly. Many stairs, uneven decking, tight quarters. That said, the staff and volunteers are very accommodating. They may have a special program.
Hi, The main deck is wheelchair friendly, which gives access to the mess decks, laundry, sick bay and so on. Also access to toilets and cafe and main armament. Below decks is not possible with a wheelchair and even difficult I can imagine even with crutches, as the stairs are almost vertical in some cases. However, it is such an impressive ship that it is still worth a visit.
Forget the wheelchair, you need to climb World War 2 cruiser steps in some places. These are more like a ladder than a staircase.
Not at all wheelchair friendly . Some areas ok with crutches, but many areas not accessible. A good trip butay be disappointing if you can't see all of it .
I’m sure you would have to use crutches, it has very small areas with even sampler spaces to get through to get to them, it has ladders to get to different levels of the ship, if you decide to go try and go even it is not busy in order to give you plenty of time to get around.
