How bad were the insects?
Did you get bit?
How big was the "cage" people ride in?
We travel fairly often to the Carribean and don’t get to bothered. Can’t be to much worse than DC. We usually either use those ‘bands’ you wear around your ankle/wrist or there is these ‘sticker’ type things you can get (both from Amazon) as we are not a lot for the sprays unless in really bad area. Just be aware of things like dusk, swampy areas and the such. Hope this helps. Enjoy your Vaca wherever you go as life is to short to worry about a few insects!
There was no problem with insects when we visited. We had taken the precaution of bug spray. Neither of us were bitten. We were there late morning. It might be different at peak bug times, early morning or late afternoon.
We had one other couple and the guide in our tram but the maximum capacity is 8. It would be quite cramped if the tram was full.
I didn't notice any insects; I didn't get bitten, nor did my kids. You're so high up, it's cooler. The cage could fit about 8 people in rows of two, if I recall correctly. I sat with my young son, and my wife sat with my young daughter.
