Hello, Is it true that the chinese have bought the island? I first went to the island in 2008, quiet, rustic, intimate, NATURAL. I was just suggesting to my partner and daughter that we should return for this July, (daughter and I stayed in 2010). He needs somewhere quiet, relaxing, Natural Environment. If the chinese have bought the island , it will be destroyed, Never to recover. And we will never return. Cheers
Hi everyone, I've noticed through the reviews that many have travelled with young kids, some under 2 yrs old. I'm considering coming to Oyster Island via Port Vila with my (will be by then) 7 month old. I'll be speaking to a travel doctor soon, but just wondered if any of you had any problems travelling with an infant, and how did you deal with the (if any) concerns over things like Malaria.
Loved your review, and your Christmas card which we have just received.I have been looking at Fiji as a new place to snorkel but your idea of Santo triggers my memory to take a look at it. Are there any coral reefs there ? If so is it directly off the resort beach, 7 times to vanawatu, wow You must love it.what is the best time of year to,go?
we saw a deal at Oyster Island in the Sunday paper. The deal was at the Frangipani room. We would like a room with a water view and tea/coffee facilities preferably with a small kitchenette and fridge. Would this room be ok or would you suggest something else?
Can we go to Luganville for suplies like juice, milk and wine?
When are the tradewinds strong?
Ps Have been to Vanuatu many times and love the local people
