What travellers are saying
- Michael BWakefield, UK474 contributions26 years since our last visit here yet we have been to Lanzarote 5 times since then, so definitely time for a re-visit. We went on a coach trip and that would seem the best bet, cost aside, as the coaches definitely get priority and the queues became huge whilst we were there, plus cars are not allowed on the "road of the volcanoes", which, for us, was the highlight of the visit. Far busier than our last visit, but the worst bit was the wind, which at times seemed almost gale-force despite the glorious sunshine.
Certainly a different and fascinating day out.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - michelle f5 contributionsWe went to Rancho Texas for the western evening. 15/03/24
We were a party of 5 including two elderly grandparents.
After a nightmare journey there with a coach full of very drunk holiday makers the evening was fantastic.
The show , the food and the amazing staff couldnāt do enough to make sure you had the best evening.
Thanks to all the staff but especially Pocahontas who was so helpful sorting out taxi back to costa teguise so we didnāt have to endure the coach again !

- John M3 contributionsGreat trip. I'm v v v scared of heights so was worried about shear drops and stairwells with a drop on one side. But.. not too much of that. I'm really bad, but apart from from sweaty palms, I managed fine, keeping to the side on pathways etc. Tour guides were great. Wonderful, interesting tour.
Some steps to undertake etc, but the v elderly lady in our group with two hinking poles, managed it, if a little slower than the rest. If you are an an extremely claustrophobic or anxious person, make sure you have a hand to hold onto.Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Trailblazer in terms of his architecture. Difficult for me to imagine living there with the outside inside.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Be warned, it is extremely bumpy, rippled and strewn with loose gravel and some larger stones. We took it slowly as we like many were in a hire car. We were overtaken. I wouldn't advise driving fast as you could easily puncture a tyre on a rock and there is nothing around you but barren waste land. It wouldn't do the suspension any good either. Once you get to the pay booth (3 euros, card only) the next stretch is slightly better, but not good. The ticket booth was deserted by the time we left around 4.30, so maybe free if you arrive later.
The car park is large and not even half full when we went. There are several beaches, no facilities of any kind on the beach. Take everything you need, including shade if you want it. A small restaurant perches on the cliff top. We didn't go in so can't comment. Path down to the beach is steep ish. Maybe not good for those with mobility issues. Not a place for buggies. The beach is sloping, sandy and the sea fairly shallow for a little way. Rocks around either side should be good snorkeling but beware, the sea was choppy and visibility mostly poor a short distance from shore. My husband went further than me and was concerned by the strength of the swell and current dragging him about, at times he was swimming but not getting anywhere. Weak swimmers should stay close to shore. Snorkeling close in and to the sides was good in anycase. Nice beach, can be busy. Take what you need and drive slowly.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My friend and I got the bus from Puerto Del Carmen to Arrecife then a taxi to the cactus garden. It cost ā¬60 both ways and the driver waited for us in the car park. ā¬8 each entrance. Beautiful cacti and nice cafe and ambience.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bicool F20 contributionsGreat views on Graciosa and Famara beach from the top. - Rob121618West Malling, UK458 contributionsThis is an amazing place to visit; well worth going to particularly if you are staying in the north of the island. It's the only place to see these tiny white crabs. A very picturesque place to visit with wonderful photo opportunities and views to the coast and the internal landscape of the island. Only negative is that it is a little on the pricey side for the amount of time you spend there (15 euro per person).Written 21 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wilsonjennyWirral, UK698 contributionsEasy jaunt up the mini mountain that dominates Playa Blanca and El Faro area of Lanzarote. Spectacular views from the summit. Good trainers or walking boots recommended as well as walking poles if usually used (not essential). Can be very windy too.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JohnCracknellHayling Island, UK1,228 contributionsWe tried to visit last year but was prevented by road closures . This year we entered via the El Golfo/yaiza end. Good car parking. - RamblerNewcastle upon Tyne, UK567 contributionsThe largest ātownā beach in the area. Beautiful sand and easy access for swimming and watersports.
Sunbeds were ā¬6 each when we were there but you can just take your own stuff. There are a couple of beach bars if you want drinks/food. Drinks are ok - the food isnāt great but there a other restaurant just above too.
Not a large beach so get your lounger early.
Nice views of both ports and across to Fuertaventura.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
