Solid museum that covers the Utah Beach landings and much of the background to the D-Day beach landings. A number of mementos, equipment, and artifacts to be seen here including a bomber inside the hangar. Well done exhibit which also includes a 10 minute film (runs in French and English) on the Utah Beach landings in 1944. Gift shop at the end. Bathrooms on site and free parking. Also a small eatery just outside that is open depending on the time of year. The museum rests right over a German position which you'll be able to see through the windows towards the end of the tour. Very well done and worth the stop.

Largely overshadowed by the Omaha Beach landings, this beach played an extremely important role in Liberation in 1944. It gave the Americans foothold to then hook to the north and take Cherbourg and open the ports to resupply the Allies in their push to liberate all of France alongside their French brothers in arms. Worth taking a walk and reflecting. You'll notice structures and even barges/parts of artificial piers still along the beach or just offshore. You can even make out the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc when the weather is clear. Important site to pay homage to those who gave all.

A recently added memorial to the legendary Richard Winters - who would shun even the thought of a statute or memorial left in his name. Worth a stop to read the placard and look over the fields he led his men through during the D-Day jump and landings. An ode to the many heroes who didn't make it back.

Made famous as a rally point for American soldiers during Liberation in 1944, this church raises majestically above the town and is worth taking some photos of. There are placards around it in French and English showing then and now photos of what took place here. As others have said, worth reading ahead before coming here so you have a clearer understanding of what happened here.

Statue monument to the U.S. Navy and the many who gave their lives during WWII. Easy and quick stop when visiting the Utah Beach museum and/or Utah Beach itself.

There're two memorials erected on a road leading to the famous Utah beach landing site: one to Major Dick Winters, and this one to Danish seamen.
It was quite a surprise to me as I learnt a new fact not knowing about their role previously.

Located in the heart of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, boutique Holdy is a nice little shop, filled to the brim with both World War 2 related items (original as well as more recent productions), and military themed gifts. Unlike most tourist shops selling war souvenirs, the prices here seem to be more realistic than, say, nearby Sainte-Mère-Eglise. That's not to say they are cheap, but as cheap as can be expected. They do know the value of their merchandise: original caps, for instance, have price tags in excess of several hundred euro. We've been visiting the landing beaches for quite a few years now, but always stop here to see what's on sale.

Utah Beach was the site of the most successful US landing in terms of casualties. Very few men were lost here in contrast to the devastation at Omaha Beach. That does not mean it is not an important, humbling place to visit. Quite incredible. We did see the trotters being exercised on the beach in the morning.
