What travellers are saying
- William HSydney45 contributionsIt was interesting to discover the history of this tiny fishing village which evolved into one of the most important industrial areas of Sydney's eastern suburbs. With the popularity of Botany's closeness to the city the population soon grew so that now we are considered a City. Botany City Council. All this local knowledge can be discovered at the George Hanna Memorial Museum.Written 22 December 2011This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CasandraTPSydney, Australia1,084 contributionsWe came here for a wedding and it was a lovely service. The church isn’t pretty on the outside but the windows are lovely on the inside. It is quite a traditional Catholic Church and has a very local feel about it. It is not grand but is a nice church.Written 2 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Dee MSan Antonio, TX315 contributionsThis is a great bit of fun if you just want to learn more about what goes on up in the cockpit or you are a licensed pilot who wants to fly the "Queen of the Skies". They will show you everything that goes on and you can do as much on your own as you wish including taking off and landing this giant machine. The simulator has full working flight management systems for those who want to simulate an actual flight plan or you can experience landing on the Hudson River in New York just like Captain Sully did! - Liat0001New York City, New York93 contributionsWe went there and it is a little old, but I really liked the funky feel of the place. The drinks were reasonable and there is a good pub attached to it, so food afterwards was good. We had great fun bowling in a relaxed atmosphere with good music. It was a bit retro, a lot fun. I would recommend.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- gullivertravels62Lilburn, GA523 contributionsWe went here as a group after work. It has a nice outdoor area where you can sit a good sized group. We had 8 and the weather was great. They have a reasonable beer selection and a good enough food selection. Nothing was outstanding but it was all good. Service was good. It wasn’t too loud to actually converse. This was a weekday so may be different on weekend.Written 7 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ShaneRangiora, New Zealand4 contributionsAs a professional sports team who were needing a facility that would host us in a manner that would allow our lengthy layover in Sydney to be smooth and supportive - I can not rate our visit to the Plaza Premium Lunge (International departures) highly enough. The hospitality and professionalism of the staff was excellent and the quality of the food and beverages provided were also of a high standard. I would recommend the facilities and the people for anyone passing through and also for any groups who may have similar needs to us in transition on lengthy international flights.Written 19 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bj LSurfers Paradise, Australia1,322 contributionsThe Emirates lounge has a pleasant ambience and there is plenty of seating and views out over the tarmac.
There is a good selection of food and tea, coffee, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks and wines.
The lounge is very clean and the bathrooms are also clean and well maintained. Emirates lounges are a far improvement on Qantas loungesWritten 7 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Upon telling The driver my intended destination at the budget ibis hotel Redcliffe , he told me I should take the shuttle bus . I said it’s okay I’m happy to pay for the trip via taxi .
He told me it would be $50 , to which I replied “not likely I’ve taken this ride numerous times as it’s part of my work travel routine”.
He continued to drive , so I asked him to turn the meter on . He refused and threatened to drop me back off at the taxi rank .
I replied that it was completely unacceptable, and I would have to report him if he wished to refuse the ride .
He turned the meter on angrily , and drove off like a bat out of hell , in a rather dangerous fashion .
I turned my google maps gps on , as I had a bad feeling that things were going to get worse. The driver proceeded to take the freeway 10 minutes in a different direction from the hotel , and looped back and took the side streets weaving his way back to Redcliffe .
Upon pulling up at the hotel , I asked him why he decided to take a huge deviation , he said that there was road works and that this was the only way . No road works were seen upon the usual roundabout turnoff he should have taken .
I paid the fare via my company credit card , and asked for a tax receipt . He gave me a small payment slip with no gst details . I said that my work wouldn’t accept this as an official tax invoice , and he refused 3 times to print the invoice .
In his desperation he tried to offer me $20 cash , of which I refused 3 times . He then tried to offer me $50 cash saying that the fare wouldn’t cost me anything . I refused multiple times .
Eventually he did print the tax invoice . The amount being more than double what the fare should have cost .
Unfortunately not an isolated incident, my last 3 rides with GM in sydney were all bad experiences with some element of scammingWritten 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And spoke to a gentleman named nick ristevski who organised this mattress for me who knew what he what talking about as he has been in the business for a long time. The value and quality is far to none I recommend to go and buy a mattress from this company and to talk to nick ristevski and I’m sure he will look after you the same way he looked after usWritten 18 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
