Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Diana SNorth Branch, MN133 contributionsAmazing views of the ocean and the large rocks, each with a name and story. Nice walkways to the beach.
Restrooms were closed & locked in mid-September.Written 22 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The creative energy put into this display puts a spotlight on the plastic contamination of our seas. I would recommend it for all ages.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 2013TravelinFoolMesquite, NV2,759 contributionsBeen wanting a photo of this lighthouse for years and we finally were close enough to get a few photos. - Joseph RobbaCharlotte, NC2,256 contributionsBandon was so cool. We spent a ton of time exploring the rocks, caves, tidepools, even found a petrified stump on the beach. There's tons of wildlife everything from sea stars and anemones to Sea Lions! There are a few people here policing the tide pool areas, but I found them to be far less karen-esq compared to the ones I saw at Cannon Beach.
If you have young kids, I definitely recommend coming here and letting them just go wild, and explore. Highly recommend Bandon Beach, it was in my top 3 spots along the Oregon Coast that we stopped at.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a nice small museum with a fascinating collection of artifacts from former residence.Written 26 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Atticus SCorvallis, OR129 contributionsWe stumbled on this — so interesting to watch it be created, and beautiful to see it completed. We watched from the beach; later we wanted to see it from above but it was crazy busy above with cars, no parking, etc. It’s popular to view!Written 6 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joseph RobbaCharlotte, NC2,256 contributionsWe came at low tide and saw all kinds of wildlife. Sea anenomes, sea stars, sea lions, just to name a few. There was a group of people that had brought out stanchions and roped off some of the areas of the exposed rocks and tidepools, but in general, we didn't receive any trouble from them like we had with the people at Cannon Beach. There is a ton to explore here. If you have small kids, my advice would be to come here and just allow them to walk around and explore the tidepools, touch an anenome and sea stars, and just allow them to unplug from the digital world we live in. This place is insanely cool.Written 17 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bruce FSalem, OR181 contributionsFull disclosure; I am a visual artist and have had work in this gallery for over 20 years. I love this place and the people working here. The quality of the artwork is excellent, focusing primarily on decorative arts but with some avant-garde works also included. The place is a great place to find gifts and decor, tourists and locals enjoy exploring the spaces. They are considerate of their customers/patrons and the artists artists that they represent. In my biased opinion, they are the best gallery in the region!Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debbie M1 contributionGreat place to go walk the beach, take the dogs out for a walk, I have 3 small yorkies and alot of bigger dogs not on leashes, just a heads up,have never had a problem but things do happen. Great rock hunting beaches have found agates and petrified wood a few times, love it here and always spend some time here when in the areaWritten 28 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jiang JPleasanton, CA21 contributionsOne of the most beautiful Oregon coastlines. The waves and rocks make great pictures. You can also go down the beaches and watch the birds and seals enjoying life on the rocks. A must seen hidden gem if you are driving through Bandon!Written 27 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellen W6 contributionsBandon is the only place on the Oregon coast that I prefer. The beach is great, as is the rock collecting. The wind was really not bad around the jetty.Written 9 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 2threpHayden, ID45 contributionsAfter nearly 18 months of anticipation, I just finished my trip to Bandon Dunes. Our rounds went as follows: Day 1 Preserve, Day 2 Bandon Trails & Bandon Dunes, Day 3 Bandon Dunes & Sheep Ranch, Day 4 Pacific Dunes & Sheep Ranch, Day 5 Old Mac and Pacific Dunes. While 9 rounds of golf seems untenable, we were grateful to have caddie Jimmy Heyn there to accompany us. Jimmy was the perfect balance of servant, coach and friend. He augmented the experience and I’d recommend him to anyone.
We stayed at the Inn and that worked well. The room was clean and comfortable. Food at McKee’s was good, but it got a little noisy. Food at The Forge was great, but we found it to be quite warm there and maybe a little pricey. Make sure to a get a hot pastrami at the Sheep Ranch; you’ll thank me later.
I’ve played/stayed at Whislting Straights, Streamsong, and many others and would definitely recommend a trip to Bandon Dunes. The quality and variety of golf is tough to match. Prepare carefully with the proper attire for a rang of weather and you’ll be fine.Written 15 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The goats, donkeys, deer and sheep were a treat and wanted to play. The lions and tigers were mostly out and lying around their enclosures were clean and they look healthy. The monkey was very entertaining. All in all a great treasure of the small animal parks its not a huge zoo with lots of space for the animals but well worth the stop.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Taira H1 contributionBeautiful. No other word can describe Bryce's work except, possibly, spectacular quality. The store front is elegant and makes you feel like your in a small museum. It looks exactly as you would have wanted it to; with out know that's what you'd have expected. No cramped spaces and decidedly no china shop feel. The store and owner are very welcoming and pleasant.Written 3 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
