- Brian R89 contributionsExcellent little museum with so many fascinating different stories and interesting subjects. I think it’s a little gem with helpful, friendly volunteers and an excellent shop and gallery. - Adventurers049Brisbane, Australia3,393 contributionsThe town centre is quaint with narrow wiggly streets. So many of the shops look as if they stayed in Charles Dickens era.
A fun place to wander around.Written 30 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Loved the planting here.
Visited the Orangery Tearooms for a light bite. To be honest food over priced and underwhelming.
However, the customer service was excellent. I was served by Amal, who greeted me immediately I walked in. She was attentive, conscientious and just plain excellent. Amal is a credit to the establishment.Written 20 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has lovely sloping grassed areas that are good for picnics and for the kids to play on.

- Karen A5 contributionsAn interesting place to visit. Strange to go to a street with no shops or houses. Loved walking out to sea and have water either side of me.Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 903TinaBexleyheath, null, United Kingdom29 contributionsI recently stayed in Whitstable and pre booked The Voodoo Room, never having seen them or heard of them before. They were amazing, I would definitely see them again.
The theatre itself is fantastic and such very good value for money. The staff are really lovely and go the extra mile. In future whenever I stay in Whitstable I will visit this wonderful Theatre .Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I’m glad I did quite a lot of route research on Google Maps first because that helped get me out of Canterbury mainly on cycle paths or quiet roads. It’s quite a long steep hill straight away and if (like me) you only ride a bike once a year, it was quite hard work… I obviously need to push myself harder in Spinning classes! Keep your eyes peeled for the cycle route signs. National Route 1. Some are very small and hidden (hence the additional help from Google Maps).
Once at the University, things were much easier as you are on a truly off road trail. Sometimes it’s tarmac but mainly stony trails. The route definitely has some undulation but I was find on the way to Whitstable. Part of the route near the university is used for parkrun on Saturday mornings so if you enjoy running, do that at 9:00am. If not, then avoid between 9 and 10 on Saturday mornings because it was busy!
Coming into Whitstable, the signage wasn’t great and I got lost several times but eventually made it to the harbour for a crab sandwich on the beach before heading back again. There is a long steep climb shortly after leaving Whitstable where I had to get off the bike and push about half way up the hill.
It took me just over an hour to get to Whitstable and just under an hour to get back to Canterbury! A really enjoyable ride past farmland, through a forest. Highly recommend!Written 21 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
