Was very surprised how clean, quiet the park was. The caravan sites were very spacious. Toilets were very clean. There is a walking track just behind the park. The main shops weren’t too far away. Aquamoves was walking distance for a swim on a hot day.

My wife and I visited this place during our stopover in Shepparton to have a rest and lunch during our drive home from a holiday in RACV Resort Cobram where we stayed for four nights.

We were looking for information on the highlights in Shepparton. This place is very clean and well presented. The staff were very helpful.

Magnificent! What you may ask! Everything!!! Seriously everything!

Firstly there is parking along side this playground... the playground is fenced for safety and where is it? At the back of Victoria Lake... being at the back of the lake without the steady flow of cars is the best place.

So - it's doing okay so far. But let's see what this magnificent playground has going for it---

    ✓ Location
    ✓ Parking
    ✓ Fenced for safety
    ✓ Toilets
    ✓ Bins
    ✓ Picnic tables
    ✓ Bench seats
✓ Designed to cater for wheelchair access and mobility
    ✓ BBQ
    ✓ Mosaic footpath

I don't think I have missed anything... most importantly though... I don't feel there is anything that you could say isn't magnificent. :) But ... you may think differently to me... go and visit yourself and see what your thoughts are.

Just a quick visit as it still had most of the exhibition rooms under construction or some similar scenario that was occurring, therefore only a couple of areas we could see.
None the less, it is an impressive piece of modern architecture and I was greatly taken with the style, including public facilities, and the surrounding grounds.
Aboriginal gallery was open though and a few works one would acquire if time and space wasn't an option.

Look forward to coming back at a later date.

Despite looking like a small town museum, there was a lot of history to look through in this deceptively large museum with friendly, knowledgeable staff.
The current exhibition - the light horse troops, was fantastic and was filled with lots of information.

great fishing along the Goulburn river, close to the city and accommodation. There are some good camping points also, if you need to go bush. Very nice part of the Goulburn river.

Absolutely incredible display of local art and culture - fantastic and engaging workshops, especially activities like the annual turtle muster.

Locals - add this to your must do for visiting family & friends!

This is an excellent example of what can be done with a reclaimed tip. It’s in it’s early days as a garden but is still very interesting. If you do have mobility issues then it is quite possible to get around. The only hard part would be getting to the top. All the rest is fine.
Walks along both the Broken & Goulburn rivers. Lots of birds - Egret, heron, cormorants, ducks. A few benches scattered about with a couple of picnic areas. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Marketplace offers you many shopping options and other conveniences such as public toilets, a key cutter, etc. The food court is terrific and gives you a good selection of some great options. My only gripe is that it's often tricky to find a park close enough.

The first recorded burial at the cemetery was Andrew Larson aged 3 years, buried in 1876. It was customary for old cemeteries to be divided into sections according to religion. Shepparton Public Cemetery still uses this organisational format however people are free to choose plots in any section of the cemetery, regardless of religion. New areas, such as the Ashes Walls, the vaults and the Public Mausoleum are non-denominational.

Whilst there are unknown graves here, there are nearly 14000 burial sites within this cemetery. There is a small war cemetery here as well... Men who were training during WW2 that died at a nearby training facility.

I did stumble upon a grave that was in memory of Agnes Cooper and William Cooper and thought it was the famous Aboriginal Australian political activist and community leader but this grave showed that they passed away in the late 1800s... well before William Cooper the activist did. It is interesting to note that the grave was for a married couple of the same names.

Another grave of interest is Murray William James Bourchier. He served with the 4th Light Horse Regiment in WW1 at Gallipoli. By 1917 he was commanding the regiment and was awarded a distinguished service order. There is a statue of this man at the corner of Queens Park in Shepparton.

I spent time wandering around reading headstones, hearing the whispers of those who were here before us... quite enjoyable to spend time here.
