It’s nice to be able to say, “I did the Sella Ronda.”… but it was really more trouble than it was worth. It’s a constant on/off of lifts and the ski runs in between we’re crowded, short and mediocre. You’re better off finding and skiing specific parts of the Sella Ronda on different days than trying to ski the whole thing in a day.

Went for a very scenic walk to the waterfalls. It is quite a beautiful area with cows, grazed grasslands and stunning views of mountains all around.
There is a nice picnic area before the small ascent to the waterfall itself.
It is a great walk to do from city and well worth a visit.

Thank you so much to all the instructors we had this week. We had a family lesson with the lovely Karin Costamoling during our first day just to get used to skis again. My wife had private lessons with Karin every day for the rest of the week and her skiing had really progressed. Our daughter Zoe was taught again this year by Jana which she was absolutely delighted about. Our little boy was taught by Simone who was fantastic with the children. I was lucky enough to have some private lessons with Marc Tatz who was great company and managed to get me skiing far better than I was at the beginning of the week. The highlight was when he told me I did at least one good turn on the Gran Risa. The best skiing compliment I’ve ever had. All highly professional and lovely people. We are always made to feel so welcome which is one of the reasons we return to Corvara year after year. Thank you Scuola Sci Corvara. We’ve already booked our hotel so look forward to seeing you again next year.

The view of Lago Boe from the Vallon chair lift is sort of underwhelming, but I'm sure it's a nice experience from the tram station by trail.

The cable car takes you from the south east corner of Corvara up onto the plateau. In the winter it's a major transport link for skiers. In summer walkers can use it to get up high to start their treks. I believe it's closed at some time between winter and summer. The Col Alto Refuge at the top has a bar, restaurant and superb views. Again, I don't believe it's open all year so best to check. Like most cable cars/gondolas, there's no heating or air con, so it can be cold in winter and hot in summer - dress accordingly!

Very beautiful Ferrata, takes about 2-3 hours depending on your conditioning, wouldn’t recommend it for Ferrata virgins....you can start hiking from corvara or park you car at the Ferrata parking, about 10 minutes drive towards passo Gardena
While hanging don’t forget to take the time-turn your head & enjoy the view . After refueling at the refuge you can choose few options to return back or continue hiking towards the next refuge & piz boe .
You can choose to end the round either by ascending to Passo Pordoi (hiking or cable car)or continue to Ferrata piz de lech down to corvara .

Okay, so if you took the town out of the mountains and put it down someplace else, you’d say it’s nice, not amazing. But the location? Holy cow. You’re right in the middle of some of the best hiking, bike riding, and generally enjoying, the best mountain scenery in the world. Just...wow! Take any cable car, or drive, or walk, but get up high someplace and look around. It’s amazing.
