Like many other establishments perpetuating fear and discrimination, money is their motive, not health and piece of mind.

Fossa Carolina is a nice history reminder and also a beautiful piece of nature. I visited it on one beautiful autumn Sunday and really enjoyed it. There were a few other visitors but it wasn't crowded. But I assume that it can be different in tourists season as there are parking lots dedicated for buses so organized tours are obviously expected.
There are several little parking lots for passengers cars. I personally parked at the one just behind the exit from the town. Directly from the parking it is possible to enter a narrow trail leading along the canal. It took me about 15 minutes to walk at both sides of it and coming back to the town where there is a small museum and several info panels explaining the history of this never finished canal.

We spent a nice Sunday afternoon exploring this nice well preserved ruin. It was very enjoyable fun experience. The ruin is freely accessible any time except the tower. It is only open in summer season, from April till October.
Next to the castle there is an impressive war monument. And even if the tower is closed you can enjoy amazing views to the town.
All together is this place well worth a visit.

This is so far the most beautiful German war cemetery I have ever visited. There are laying not only soldiers but also civilians who died in Treuchtlingen in connection with war. At the information panels next to the entrance you can read their stories.
The cemetery is located at the edge of forest. Narrow road leads up to the cemetery and there is a tiny parking lot at the upper side of the cemetery. It is also possible to walk there from several hiking parking lots in neighbourhood.
It is easy to find as it is visible from the main road and there are also signs pointing its direction.
