What travellers are saying
- BandTBStowmarket, UK269 contributionsThis is a fabulous venue, more of a palace/folly than a castle, in a gorgeous setting. We enjoyed a couple of hours of awesome and jaw-dropping wandering, thoroughly enjoyable all round.
Nice cafe too, not cheap but good quality...
Be aware that parking is a long way from the entrance, with a sreep-ish walk thereafter...

We choose to do the lower easier walk around the lake and relaxed on the beach for lunch, even took a swim! Not much car parking so get there early.Written 14 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jacobkingsMaidstone, UK225 contributionsParking for the pier is £1.50 and entry to the pier was £0.50 which was very reasonable. There was a lovely friendly lady on the entrance kiosk of the pier, who was really informative too.
The pier itself has lovely little shops along it which weren’t open but would be lovely in the summer. There’s a nice cafe at the end too which sold lots of different things.
The pier is really long so it’s a great walk along there with even better views of the coastline!
We sponsored a light for a loved one we have lost too which is a lovely idea that the pier have had.

- N DLincolnshire, UK1,247 contributionsIf you visit expecting a beautiful church, you will not be disappointed. However, if you are planning to visit a ‘cathedral’, you might well be disappointed. It is very small.
We were the only people there so we had the place to ourselves for about 20 minutes.
Bangor itself is sadly very rundown so not much else to see.Written 31 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The art exhibition was really interesting when I visited with a wide range of creative skills showing 40 years of the Art Foundation course and the talents that have emerged through that. The shop has some lovely gifts and beautiful selection of cards. Highly recommend. It's also free!Written 10 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CuddsHolyhead, UK6,065 contributionsWe have driven over the bridge by car and train it’s a stunning piece of art .
The Menai suspension bridge as it is known can also be viewed from the banks of the Menai straits looking up.
It’s a bit of a trek but well worth it.Written 6 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dead_SheepStourbridge, UK238 contributionsFor a facility over 50 years old, this is a surprisingly good pool. It was clearly well maintained and cleaned regularly. Friendly and helpful staff.
Two pools are advertised by this is effectively two pools split by a boom. The training pool is 1.1m - 1.4m deep and would probably not be suitable for children seeking 'funpool' activity. The main portion of the pool is 3.8m at it is deepest. High, middle and low level diving sessions operate at certain times at the deep end (check the timetable)
I would commend this pool to swimmers though people who prefer fun pools may prefer alternative venues.Written 24 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Several interesting structures including what was a dual gauge bridge crossing a tramway and river, a 300 yard tunnel and two impressive viaductsWritten 24 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
