What travellers are saying
- ViaBenGreater London, UK859 contributionsI visited the museum on a cold rainy winter day and was expecting something dull and tacky but from the moment I stepped in I was impressed by how good, interesting and interactive this is.
The museum is dedicated to local history and though the towns and villages of this part of Italy have very little noteworthy, they managed to use all the material in the best possible way and bring 2000 years of peasants, churches, roads, villas, noblemen and women, factories and art to life.
The museum often has temporary exhibitions and when I visited they had a good one on XX century graphic art.Written 28 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Worth a visit specially during winter.Written 1 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ViaBenGreater London, UK859 contributionsThis villa (it is not a palazzo) is the seat of the town council and as such, is not often open to the public. If you can, I recommend you join one of the guided tours they have on open days as it is the best way to discover the history and see all the main rooms.
The architecture is interesting but not particularly beautiful, but the 18th-century frescoes are worth seeing, all mythology and family history, ranging from the amateurish to the more accomplished and reflecting the changing fortune of the families that lived here.
The cheap office furniture, neon lights and some ugly modern 'art' do not contribute to the atmosphere, but after all, this is a place of work and not a museum.Written 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ViaBenGreater London, UK859 contributionsThis local 'natural' park is split in many different smallish areas that protect what is left of the countryside and woods in a very built up and mostly suburban area north-east of Milan. The areas I visited are north of Vimercate and include fields, small woods, the meandering and smelly stream that gives its name to the park (Molgora), country roads, paths, vegetable gardens, scattered agricultural huts, (mostly modern) houses, cemeteries and plant nurseries.
The area is perfect for gentle walks, cycling and picnics and the views over the Alps are very nice.Written 1 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
