If you enjoy ancient history, this site is well worth the time. It requires some easy walking time, and if you go from one end to the other, you might want to make arrangements for a drive back to the start. Nevertheless, the temples and their setting are worth visiting.

Ortigia is the island at the tip of Syracuse and is a wonderful place to visit. Great restaurants, bars, lots of history and things to do and see although it is a wonderful place to relax. We had a wonderful time her on Ortigia and would very much recommending it as a place to spend some time in Sicily.

We climbed in, up and out of several of Mount Etna craters, and it was truly amazing. The views, the hike, the adventure I would gladly do it all again and again.

A beautiful Greek structure, which was incredible to walk around and marvel at its size. Pricing was good for EU tourists under 25! The views of the island from this impressive landmark were stunning. The only shame was the giant sponsored scaffolding. Otherwise a lovely visit.

I have been living by beach places for almost all my life, but this location definitively caught my attention!

The cathedral is an impressive and impossing blend of Arab, Norman,Gothic and Baroque. The inside shares some of the same influences, there is much to see. There are different chapels, crypts and what’s called the treasury. You can also go on the roof but it’s very narrow. The park outside is a great place to people watch.

Gorgeous palace dating back to the 1100s, containing the Capella Palatina from 1132. The chapel was built in Norman/Byzantine/Arab style and is quite beautiful. The gardens outside are amazing, too.

Best day, stunning hike with breathtaking views of coves and mountains..
we spent a few hours walking and stopped off at two of the Calas for much needed cooling off in the crystal clear water
Hiking is hilly but paths are well maintained albeit rocky
Definitely need trainers or hiking boots,p and plenty of water and snacks as there is nothing in the reserve once you enter we made the mistake of not bringing enough and had to cut our time on the beach short after hours in the sun
A must visit in the area

It is hard to get to, but it is worth it. Just the best mosaics in the world. Parking is very easy. Make sure to have money for the bathroom.

We visited the tonnara of Favignana our last day on the Egadis. The tonnara is an interesting example of industrial architecture and it has a sea turtles clinic inside the building. Liliana led in a very inspiring visit, where she taught us the almost mystic role of the rais alongside the different phases of tuna production. With the songs she shared with us, it was almost possible to feel the experience of the tonnara and its meaning not only for the industry but for the community as a whole. Absolutely recommended if you are in Favignana!

A really beautiful beach, well worth the visit. My partner and I walked down from the high street, and took the shuttle bus back up. Definitely a work out for your legs!

The beach was relatively quiet due to the time of year, and there was only one salesman trying to sell an excursion.

Main thing to note is that it's a stony beach, so shoes are A MUST! And also there are jellyfish in the water!! I was surprised that there were no signs indicating this, but after speaking to locals, both types of jellies (brown and red) sting. You can get 'afterbite' in the local pharmacies, but I decided not to swim after that!

The island is very pretty to look at and explore. A really fun trip, provided you're aware of all of the above.

Unfortunately it was an inclement day however this meant the site was deserted so the natural beauty of the rocks and ocean could be enjoyed in peace. Pity about the rubbish on the beach.
