Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Eat dinner with a view of the sea at ." Pesco no Prato "Written 10 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After asking a local, I found the inconspicuous staircase that led up to the hill. It wasn’t a real hike up, just 160 steps. The path was blocked by a small wooden boat. Not a biggie as I just tucked myself and squished my waythrough, careful not to trip and fall in the water-filled boat.
The hike up was interesting. The staircase was slippery as it was covered with leaves and I had to go over a fallen tree to continue my climb.
Once at the top, wowowow!!! Truly a spectacular view of the gentle bay, the thundering Atlantic, the many shades of colours of the mountain to the north, and the bluest of skies. I could have stayed here for hours just admiring the special landscape and seascape around me.
The Farol itself is ordinary and small and some parts were covered with graffiti. But if the Farol is the impetus that makes you want to do the walk up, then do so. You will be rewarded with magnificent scenery.Written 12 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Colin GKent, UK181 contributionsOnly about 50-100m below the hill summit & official viewpoint.
Either a 5-10 minute drive up from the town or a 15-20 minute walk up from the harbour quay, (Cais).
Make sure to look for the semi-hidden path to the right/rear of the church down to the shrine for San Antonio. Also look for the 'legend' on the side wall of the church.Written 7 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Working hours are from 9am to 9pm, and it is free. Very efficient.Written 2 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
