Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Debbie HAuckland, New Zealand8 contributionsA few months late but we had the pleasure of joining the night sky experience in April, While the weather was not overly cooperative, we had a great night and benefited from Deb's expertise. with comfy chairs, blankets, Dino's telescope, hot chocolate and home made brownies, we were well looked after. Well worth a visitWritten 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kari h2 contributionsAn awesome day and even better result. Don't forget to take along a chilly bin or similar for your catch. Amazing weather, fun experience (including food and drink), and even educational. - arshia2 contributionsMost beautiful and unique experience, knowing the stars as more than just specks of light in the night sky. - eriksenjanet76Hamilton, New Zealand3 contributionsThis is a brilliant four-day walk. Start at Auckland Airport and fly Barrier Air for a half-hour, really beautiful scenic flight on a 12 seater plane. The accommodation is at Great Barrier Lodge at Whangaparara - very quiet and comfortable, views over the bay, excellent food. There are steep and undulating walks, but a range of magnificent scenery makes it very much worthwhile! Recommended for anyone who enjoys hiking and is reasonably fit. Very friendly small group, and walkers carried only their lunch, drink, and personal gear each day.Written 3 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matt N5 contributionsI'd highly recommend Stay High Camping. My partner and I just returned after an amazing five days. The car with a rooftop tent is a fantastic way to explore Great Barrier Island and immerse yourself in its beautiful nature, with coastal spots perfect for camping and exploring.
Tim went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time, providing excellent tips and recommendations. You're completely self-contained with everything you need for an overall great camping trip. We'll definitely be back.Written 5 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
