Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kevin A6 contributionsHave just spent three days wandering and wondering the delights of the Abel Tasman National Park. This is an insanely beautiful setting to allow your legs to propel you along trails, cooled by a verdant tree canopy, before feasting on beaches of golden sand, too many to name, lapped by aquamarine seas, each vying for your and your camera’s attention. I chose to use Wilsons, a family owned operator and enjoyed the company of one of their knowledgeable, passionate guides - Sarah, over three wonderful days. Their lodges: at Torrent Bay and Meadowbank are exceptional as is the food and the people who run them. If you’re after a five star trip then look no further.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - D4BBCBroadstairs95 contributionsA beautiful 30-40 minute walk to the falls. Peaceful and very special. 23 years ago I wasn't able to summon the courage to cross the short swing bridge - but this time I did and gosh was it worth it. The falls are stunning.Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kent BSydney, Australia45 contributionsWe were fortunate to watch a pod of about 50 dolfins come up from behind our boat and quickly pass in front of us and move out to sea. Our guide mentioned that he had only seen about three other pods this summer. So, a good day.Written 30 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Veronica W10 contributionsThis was a 3 day walk staying in the luxury lodges. They certainly were luxury lodges and the food was scrumptious. Breakfast (cooked was an option), packed lunch and 3 course dinner 🍽 😋
Wilsons we're very accommodating to my friend, who just wanted to relax in the lodges and swim in the sea. They were happy to transport her lodge to lodge whilst I walked with the guide. Everyone on the trip could decide if they wanted to walk the whole day or boat some of it on the 2nd day, as it was the longest day for walking. Some people were staying for the 5 day stay. It's such a good company offering so many options (kayaking included).
The guides Jack and Tash were patient, caring, accommodating and informative. They worked really hard, helping serve dinner etc at the lodges too.
Transport provided from and to Nelson as well. A really amazing and enjoyable trip. Thank you Wilsons.Written 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide, Mitchell, was incredibly knowledgable friendly and helpful at all times - he really made the trip what it was. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, tropical blue waters and plenty marine life including penguins and seals - it truly is the best way to explore this magical place. The camping facilities and meals were exceptional too! We never went hungry or tired and we met some great people throughout the trip. So much fun, with a company that really respects the natural environment. Couldn’t recommend this highly enough! - Jillian B3 contributionsA great day!! Such a good way to spend the day on the water at Abel Tasman. Beautiful waters, beaches, great swim /kayak/hike spots. Our captain, Tim, was so nice, so knowledgeable on the area, and just a gem. Lunch (& beer/wine) was fresh, local and excellent too! Tim helped us spot all sorts of wildlife too - birds, seals, sting rays. We had a great day!! Would definitely recommend!Written 7 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
