Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gay from iSite was of great help for us. So many tours were fully booked and she found a possibility to take part in one of the tours we were really interested in. We had to prolong the hotel by one night and cancel the hotel we planned to stay in Taupo. Not only did she book the tour for us but she also prolonged our hotel in Rotorua by one night and cancelled our hotel in Taupo, everything done on the spot. She was extremely friendly, professional und helpful. She gave us a 5-star service, if we could give her 10 stars-rating we would!! Dankeschön again for everything, Gay!

The rooms set up as they would have been in the 1800 and early 1900s were delightful. There was a very wide variety of exhibits but it is not set up like a standard museum. The school, church, post-office etc. are all shown as they would have been in the past. It was fascinating. There is something to please all ages and interests from lace doilies to a Model-T Ford and everything in between. There are wartime items, agricultural set-ups and domestic set-ups. Allow plenty of time as there are lots of buildings to access. Well worth the money. It is mostly done by volunteers which is even more amazing. We will definitely visit again when we come to Matamata next time.

A lovely school Holiday activity for children Reasonably priced and organised activities for the children to participate in. Grand parents can enjoy a spa while the children are having fun. suitable for all weather as there is covered heated pool for cooler season and choice outdoor pools during the Summer.

Matamata Market features locally made crafts, gifts and a range of food products including fresh produce. The market promises toothsome goodies whether your palate is savoury or sweet.

Went to this amazing lady for the 'Heavenly Aromatherapy Massage'. Pure bliss. Claire has magic hands and a lovely way about her. She does a consultation with you first and makes sure she knows what you are hoping for and your expectations. Then she helps you to choose the best oils for you. Then I received the best massage ive had in years. I can not recomend this lady highly enough. I will be going back!

I was given the ride as a Birthday present, Wow!! Strapped in and up to 5000ft. The pilot was the best tour guide and flight instructor rolled into one. Showed me what we were flying over and showed me how to fly it! He did a couple of aerobatics because I was willing, what an experience. Absolutely do it again, absolutely want my license to fly myself!!
