Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What an adventure, beautiful place and very friendly stuff. We caught 3 large fish and smoked 2 of them in different flavours and third one took home. Reasonable prices and lovely sitting area.
We go at least twice a year.

We had planned to visit this cave as part of out trip to Golden Bay but in the weeks before we came a number of sites said it was closed , however when we got to Tākaka we checked and were told it was open so we went. We are in our seventies and it was quite a hard climb but certainly worth it, the pictures certainly capture its beauty.
Would certainly recommend going on a dry day as it could be quite slippery after rain

What a wonderful place to visit. Easy walk. No drinking water on site yet toilets are availble. Plenty of car parking space.

Fun, free activity. Limestone rock formations. It was very hot in summer though - take water. Mostly an easy walk though it's quite long if you want to see all of it. We just looked at a little bit.

Very friendly gin tasting and great gin. There was no pressure to buy. Recommended. Just have to make sure to eat something.

A great family distillery in a beautiful setting just out of Takaka in Golden Bay Nelson, specializing in a select range of spirits and liqueurs.
Jeremy has an engaging personality and guides you through, along, a delicious tasting path with their whisky, gins, and select fruit liqueurs, - and various combos of them. .'Takeaways' and on-line orders were a no-brainer for us!!
Would love to ... no, will do, .... get back down for a special summer cocktail afternoon - or three!
Sooo glad I met Jeremy at the Tauranga Food Festival a month or so ago,

A windy gravel road leads into this remote mountain top sanctuary (except when the Luminate Festival is in full swing). A great variety of walking trails plus the Canaan Loop mountain bike trail of around 17 kms. A real mix of landscapes including some beautiful beech forest. Always much cooler than down by the coast.

As a visitor to New Zealand and a traveller to many countries I have to say how wonderful this and all the Visitor Centres are.
The staff are so knowledgeable, in Takaka the lady who advised us was really helpful we can’t thank you enough.

Although the last few metres of the Parapara Valley road remains a public road, it is not suitable for parking, as it is much narrower than a council road .Local residents maintain this road and are aware of the dangers of having cars parked on either side, creating a hazard if emergency vehicles or trucks need to access the properties
No hardship at all to walk the little extra distance.I didn't mind at all

Well worth the drive to find this gallery in its beautiful setting. The landscape paintings are very evocative of the Tasman region.

Such a lovely stay with super friendly hosts! Everything is very clean and there was a cozy fire to keep us warm in the cold weather.
