Incredible views from the top, really interesting history, a very knowledgeable guide and well worth a visit!
This is a great and historical building to visit and, on a beautiful clear day like we had, gives amazing views along the Welsh coast and across the Bristol Channel to Somerset and Devon.

Well worth a visit - an beutifal old church on a very ancient site (has been a place of worship since AD 500) Houses what is recognized as the best collection of carved celtic stones in the UK
The present church at Llanilltud Fawr, dating in parts from is built on the site where a celtic saint, St Illtud, founded a monastery in around 500 AD.

The castle has a history to rival few and the views from the top lawn over the Bristol Channel on a clear day make for a wonderful afternoon picnic or just relaxing seat with a book.
Admittedly, the weather was glorious, but the views from the gardens and the well restored building were also superb.
