What travellers are saying
- Quest558130187662 contributionsIt’s a beautiful place, nature in all its splendour, stepping on the cool crystal clear water is a must have experience. My legs were tired after the trek but a dip for a few minutes in the water got me refreshed completely, it was simply out of the world. Recommend that you carry swimwear for a cool refreshing dip which you will definitely cherish until you are back againWritten 7 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - birthday lahore flowersLahore, Pakistan2 contributionsLocated in the breathtaking Georgian Bay, Flowerpot Island is a true marvel of nature that promises an unforgettable experience for all who visit. From the moment I set foot on its shores, I was swept away by the island's beauty and charm.Written 28 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nancy_OttawaOttawa, Canada637 contributionsIf you really want to enjoy the views and pristine shores the ideal time to plan your trip would be June or mid-Sept. We last visited the Grotto early in August and it was too crowded to enjoy. Even May or October would be nicer. A wetsuit is handy if you want to swim; the water temp doesn't really warm up but on a sunny day, and especially after a little hike, it can be refreshing. Some of the beach areas are in small coves or bays and the water warms up there a bit. Parking for national and provincial park sites must be reserved online ahead of time, so plan your day accordingly.Written 14 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dana NLondon, Canada1 contributionThe views were absolutely beautiful! A must see at least once in a lifetime! Atmosphere cannot be explained. You must see for yourself in order to get the full experience of all the beautiful places offered.Written 13 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert EOttawa, Canada8 contributionsWe really enjoyed our round-trip excursion from Tobermory to South Baymouth and back. The staff were attentive, except in the gift store. The store door sign said they would be back in 15 minutes; however, 30 minutes later, nearing the docking time, nobody was around. After asking staff for assistance, we were told the gift store person must be on their 30-minute break. 10 minutes before docking, staff returned, but was rude and seemed not happy they had to be there. Overall, it's worth taking the trip; just don't expect the gift store to be useful. I have to ask who is managing staff schedules on this ship!Written 4 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adam KKitchener, Canada40 contributionsGreat spot for an early morning shore scuba diving before everyone arrives. Plenty of parking if visiting in spring or fall. This is a nice wall dive experience. If you are lucky you might see some fish at the bottom.Written 17 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth B6 contributionsMy hike from the parking lot at Cypress Lake campground was beautiful and challenging. The landscape varies from flat and easy to rocky and more difficult, but the trails are well-marked and the scenery stunning.Written 15 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HappyTravellerToronto, Canada211 contributionsBeautiful spot to take a dip! You need to hike about 1.2 km from boat dock to get here. It’s well worth the hike. There is a museum and a small shop to get some pop or chips. Take the early boat ride if you want to hike up beyond the lighthouse.Written 25 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - theoljohnnyboyNew Florence, PA1,535 contributionsGreat VC. Wifi, modern restrooms, very in depth display that is covered by your parking pass fee to the grotto. Not many gifts. Trail’s unique to the VC are a nice option, as is the tower.Written 20 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cath_MtlMontréal15 contributionsThe trail to access it is a path of 900 meters, very easy. When you get to the water, it’s all rocks and YOU NEED GOOD FOOTWEAR! No sandals!!
The view is gorgeous and we loved walking along the water. The water was very pleasant to go in.
One thing we did not expect … was how aggressive the horse flies would be! There were so many!!
There is also a trail indicated to the right when you arrive to High Dump, it indicates approximately 6km but this is roundtrip and offers viewpoints that are breathtaking.
You will need to book your parking spot ahead of time on the Parks Canada website and do it in advance!! These get booked weeks in advance during the summer days.Written 9 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
