Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mt Te Aroha Suumit walk is currently closed after the cyclone and I wouldn't attempt going up there given the sodden soil at the moment. Tui Domain trail was open.

If we were fitter we would have like to venture further on tracks. Have been here several times in different seasons as we are local, a good short drive from home during COVID lockdown with a thermos & better after restrictions changed with a snack to go with our cold drinks from a Te Aroha bakery or cafe. Well recommended generous sized, stoney car-park although not very well maintained, some large pot-holes and puddles. Road access is sealed part of the way from Te Aroha - Gordon Road then a good gravel surface for the remainder of Waiorongomai Loop Road, We usually use the part opp Mace Rd going in & out the other direction as there is a tricky - for our low car drivers - give way junction

Currently summit walk is closed but still can do tui domain trail. Bit of mud around after the cyclone has been through. Still good to do if in the area. I saw some cracks in the trail so didn't hang around too long up there in case of a land slip. Cyclone went through last week.

Te Aroha domain is located on one end of town located beside the mineral springs. The museum is also located in the domain area, as are the information center and the art gallery.
The domain is fairly large but it does mostly consist of lawn bowls fields. There is a path that goes along the whole area with patches of lower beds scattered around. There is a water feature and playground on the mineral spring end of the domain.
There are a few walking tracks around the area including one that heats to the summit of Mt Te Aroha. There are also BBQ facilities available. It was a nice place to walk around. There is also a Mokena Geyser located behind the mineral springs but it was just steaming when we went.
